Shannon Elizabeth Eliminated

Shannon Elizabeth Eliminated
Shannon Elizabeth Eliminated
Shannon Elizabeth has been eliminated from today's event at the hands of Phil Ivey.

Elizabeth was all in on third street as Phil Ivey casually tossed in his chips, seemingly more interested in eating his dinner than the hand in question.

Ivey's board ran out ({K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}) {K-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a pair of kings as Elizabeth could only manage a pair of nines as she heads to the rail after a solid showing in this event.

Ivey is now looking dangerous after quietly accumulating 75,000 in chips.

Rolf Slotboom Eliminated

Rolf Slotboom was just eliminated when he went all in with a pair of tens and a flush draw. He needed to pair any of his board cards or catch a diamond to take the hand. He missed all the way around and is now headed home for the day.

Slotboom has had a good run thus far in the World Series of Poker. He already has two cashes and at least two other Day Two finishes. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the series progresses for him.

Cyndy Violette Eliminated

Daniel Negreanu just eliminated Cyndy Violette. On sixth street Violette put the rest of her chips in and Negreanu made the call. After the river was dealt, Violette looked at Negreanu and asked, "Two pair?" Negreanu replied, "Yep. Two baby ones," as he shrugged and showed threes-up. Violette showed a pair of kings and said, "Nice hand."

God Damn Baby!

Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen
After finding himself all in not too long ago, David Oppenheim has rebuilt nicely to now sit with around 40,000 in chips. Scotty Nguyen looked over at the Oppenheim's stack and was impressed with what he saw.

"God damn baby!" chirped Nguyen, drawing a sly grin from Oppenheim.

The G vs The Greek Part II

Tony G
Tony G
With Tony G all in on 5th street against Archie "The Greek" Karas, the two players tabled their cards:

Tony: ({4-Clubs}{4-Spades}) {4-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Archie: ({9-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}) {5-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{K-Spades}

On 6th street, Tony caught the {Q-Diamonds} while Archie improved to two pair with the {9-Hearts}. However on the river Archie couldn't improve further, catching the {5-Spades} against Tony's {3-Diamonds} as set of fours hold up to double him up to about 33,000. Archie is now down to 72,000.

"The Greek" Amassing Some Chips

Archie "The Greek" Karas was just involved with a big pot between Tony "G" and Minh Ly. On sixth street, Minh Ly checked his board of {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} to Tony "G" who bet his board of {4-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {6-Spades} . Karas then raised showing {9-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} . Ly and Tony "G" both call. On the river it is checked to Karas, who bet and both players called.

Karas showed ({A-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} ) for the nut flush. Both of his opponents mucked. After the hand Karras is up to 85,000 in chips.

Scott Fischman Eliminated

Scott Fischman found the last of his chips in the middle against Fu Wong and Steve Zolotow. Fischman was showing {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}, with Wong folding on the river to the bet of Zolotow.

Zolotow turned over ({5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}) {9-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} ({8-Hearts}) for the flush, which was too good for Fischman sending him to the rail. After the hand, Zolotow was sitting with about 48,000 chips.
