Kid Poker Out

Poker superstar and fan favourite Daniel Negreanu is no more. He found himself coin-flipping with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} versus {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. Sadly, his coin was buttered the wrong side, the {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{K-Spades} board sealing the deal and sending him packing.

Alex the Great

Hair well and truly raised
Hair well and truly raised
A hair-raising hand for Alex Jacob who is now on over 10,000 in chips and in good shape to proceed to round two. With three players seeing the river of a {J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Spades} board, all hell broke loose with a bet and two raises, the initial aggressor folding and allowing Jacob to call all in.

When the hands were revealed, Jacob was looking good, his {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for the full house fending off his opponent's {A-Spades}{2-Spades} nut flush and shipping him the pot.

Singer Short

Probably won't be winning another bracelet in this event
Probably won't be winning another bracelet in this event
David Singer is down to just 400.

He raised in early position with {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and found a caller in the big blind. He bet out 500 on the {5-Clubs} {2-Spades} {4-Diamonds} flop and called the big blind's raise to 1,500; he then shoved the {3-Diamonds} turn to the big blind's check, and was disappointed to discover that the big blind was holding {5-Hearts} {4-Hearts}. No help from the {Q-Spades} on the river, and Singer's swan song may well be close.
