D'Angelo Cashes In

A player under the gun called to see a flop but Ryan D'Angelo decided to bump it to 3,600. The UTG player made the call and the flop came {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Both players checked the flop, as well as the {4-Spades} on the turn, but when the {7-Diamonds} fell on the river D'Angelo led out for 9,400. His opponent folded, and D'Angelo was nice enough to flash the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

"Dan Druff" Doubles

Todd "Dan Druff" Witteles opened with a raise to 2,700 and Shane Schleger made the call. The player in the small blind then reraised to 9,300 before Witteles moved his stack all in for around 14,000 in total. Schleger stepped aside before the small blind made the call tabling {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} of Witteles.

The flop arrived {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{J-Spades} and Witteles let out a cry of, "Oh boy!" in the knowledge that the flop had helped his opponent with a straight draw. The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and river the {6-Clubs} as Witteles jumps to around 33,000 in chips.

Karma!

Two players very close to the blogging table had a bit of excitement on a flop of {J-Spades}{Q-Spades}{K-Hearts} when the first player moved all in and was called by a single opponent. The first player turned over K-Q for top two pair while his opponent showed {A-Spades}{8-Spades}. His opponent began chanting, "Spade, spade, spade," and sure enough, the third spade peeled off on the turn. Immediately after, the player jumped out of his seat and yelled, "Yeah!" at the top of his lungs. However, the river brought a third queen, giving the first player a full house, queens full of kings. After the realization set in that he had lost the hand, another player at the table laughed and chuckled, "Karma."

Hicks Eliminates Sommerville

Eric Hicks opened with a raise preflop to 2,000 and Jason Sommerville made the call. Both liked the flop of {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts} as all of the chips were pushed quickly into the middle.

Somerville held A-J but was in trouble as Hicks held A-9 for the flopped top two pair. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and river {2-Clubs} to send Sommerville to the rail as Eric Hicks jumps to about 55,000 in chips.
