Pot of the Night

Recently Gavin Griffin was moved to the same table as Shane "Shaniac" Schleger. It didn't take long for fireworks to ensue. Schleger raised preflop to 2,400 and was called by Griffin in the cutoff position. A player on the button immediately pushed all in for 7,875. Both Schleger and Griffin called.

Flop: {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Schleger bet 7,500. Griffin made the call.

Turn: {10-Clubs}

Schleger checked to Griffin, who bet 18,000. Schleger check-raised all in for 34,325. Griffin snap-called. Griffin had Schleger covered.

Schleger: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Griffin: {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Button Player: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

River: {8-Spades}

Griffin made his straight, but Schleger made his full house. The button player was eliminated and Schleger doubled up through Griffin. After the hand, Schleger is sitting with 105,000 in chips and Griffin is down to 14,000.

After the hand, Griffin looked over to Schleger and asked, "Would you like to buy the rest of my green?"

No More Miami

Miami John
Miami John
"Miami" John Cernuto called from middle position when a late position player decided to talk a bit of trash. After looking at his cards, the player looked at "Miami" John and said, "I think you've got 2-3" and moved his chips all in. John replied, "well if you think I have 2-3, then I'll take my chances" and made the call. John showed {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} only to find himself up against {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Though John flopped an 8, the opponent's pocket jacks held up, shortstacking John who eventually busted out shortly thereafter.

Ryan D'Angelo Dominating

Ryan D'Angelo
Ryan D'Angelo
Ryan D'Angelo is steamrolling his table at the moment and playing some great poker. In a recent hand we observed him come over the top of an opening raise from "Miami" John Cernuto. In a blind battle, "Miami" John had opened to 2,400 from the small blind and D'Angelo shoved over the top from the big blind. "Miami" John went into the tank and eventually folded his hand, as D'Angelo quipped "You pros don't like to gamble!" as he added to his 75,000 chip stack.

Ketteringham Flushes Opponent in Raising War

In a battle of the blinds Mark Ketteringham raised it up to 2,000 from the small blind, before the player in the big blind reraised to 6,000. Ketteringham then popped it up once again to 12,000 before the big blind made another min-raise to 18,000 in total. Ketteringham then decided to finally move it all in and the big blind called.

Ketteringham held {A-Spades}{J-Spades} but trailed the pocket tens of his opponent. The board ran out {Q-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{K-Spades} to make Ketteringham a flush to bust his opponent and move to 45,000 in chips.

Gone, Baby, Gone

We came back from dinner break with 435 players still left in the field. After only one hour of play, we're already down to just 340. Since we're stopping play at 225 players, that's just 115 players left to be eliminated before we call it a night.
