Hand For Hand

We are now close to the bubble, and all media have been ejected from the tournament area while our remaining tables go hand for hand.

Bubble Dodger

Another player desperately trying to stay in until the dreaded bubble has passed is Nadim Shabou. He open-shoved his last 12,000 from middle position and was called by Barry Greenstein behind him. Luckily for Shabou, his {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades} was way ahead of Greenstein's {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs} -- and he stayed ahead on the {5-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} board to double up to 25,000 or so. Greenstein remains out of the danger zone, though, on 95,000.

Krouner & Stemper Still In

Ken Krouner has been located, and it wasn't hard, as he is one of the more sociable players in the room, chatting away to his fellow table mates and generally having a good time.

Whilst Krouner sits on 36,000, just a couple of seats down is Patrick Stemper, his stack bisected in half and now sitting at just 41,000.

Moskow Won't Go

Andrew Jeffreys raises, Matthew Ehrlich calls and Joshua Moskow pushes all in for the umpteenth time for what appears to be around the 20-25,000 mark. As on previous occasions, his timing is impeccable, both Jeffreys and Ehrlich making reluctant folds.

Jeffreys remains your current chip leader with a whopping 210,000.

"Maridu" Doesn't Win

Maria "Maridu" Mayrinck has been crippled down to just 10,000. All in preflop on that classic coin flip, Mayrinck's {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} didn't hold up against Andrew Gordon's {A-Spades} {K-Spades} on a {K-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {4-Spades} board to double up Gordon and leave Mayrinck desperately trying to dodge the dreaded bubble.

Thor Hansen Busts

Not this happy right now

Cheery Norwegian Thor Hansen is not so cheery any more, having just busted out in circumstances unknown, last seen donning his coat and heading for the door.

Tim Phan Doubles Through

Tim Phan
Tim Phan
There has been unrest between the short stacks, Tim Phan locking horns with fellow struggler Dane Lomas. On this occasion, it was Phan all in and in dire need of assistance, his {A-Spades}{8-Spades} in bad shape against Lomas' {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

However, on a {6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{3-Spades} board, Phan spiked his ace to stay alive and thus doubled through to the 15,000 mark.

Lomas, meanwhile, drops to the same amount, meaning both players will be looking to push or fold in the upcoming rounds.

Justin Time

Ken Justin has won a large pot, virtually doubling him up on the river of an x-A-A-x-x board. Justin turned over pocket nines, and his opponent simply mucked.

Justin is now up to 49,000.
