Hachem Upset With Himself

Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem just said that we should mention here he is kicking himself after that last hand. He went on to say he shouldn't have raised the river and, "I should have just called, but I'm not good enough."

After getting knocked to 2,000, Joe is now back to 6,000.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie... Ouch, Ouch, Ouch

Omaha -

Omaha can be one hell of a game...

On the river, the pot sat at 3,500. The {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {A-Hearts} were laid out on the felt and the rest of the deck spread when Joe Hachem bet the pot. Paul Taylor raised the pot and then Hachem moved all in. Taylor quickly called.

Taylor turned over {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {10-Spades} for a royal flush. Hachem turned over two cards, the {A-Diamonds} and the {K-Spades} for kings full of aces before mucking his hand.

After being crippled to only 2,000, Hachem said, "You know what, if I lose, I don't mind losing to that hand."

Kelly Hears the Music

John-Paul Kelly gets things rolling with a raise from the hijack seat. He makes it 3,500 to go, and Zachary Hyman reraises the pot from the small blind. Kelly makes the call, and the two players get to look at a flop.

It comes {Q-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}. Hyman makes a full-pot bet of 27,000. Kelly cuts out the calling chips and takes a moment to survey the situation. He removes his headphones, turns off his iPod, and glances over at Hyman.

"Good luck," Hyman says, which apparently is the confirmation Kelly needs, as he folds his cards into the muck. He still has 70,000 left, but Hyman has him just edged now with 73,000.

The Rock of Gibralter Cumbles

Omaha -

Jeff Gibralter limped from middle position and David Penly completed from the small blind. The big blind checked his option.

The flop was {8-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} and a big pot was played when Penly and Gibralter got all in. Penly held {8-Spades} {8-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {2-Spades} for top set on the flop. Gibralter showed {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}.

The turn was the {A-Spades} and the river the {5-Spades}. Gibralter missed all of his outs and was eliminated by our chip leader Penly.

Seidel Sidles Out the Door

Erik Seidel Eliminated
Erik Seidel Eliminated
Hold'em -

We didn't get to see this hand play out, but here's the information we've gathered about it:

Allen Cunningham opened from the button with a raise to 3,000. Seidel came back with a reraise, making it 9,000 to go. Not to be outdone, Cunningham three-pops it, putting out a big enough raise to put Seidel all in.

Seidel calls, tabling {9-?} {9-?} and racing against Cunningham's {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. The flop was all diamonds, and the fourth diamond on the turn made Cunningham the nut flush and sent Seidel away to the rail.

After knocking out his fellow Full Tilt pro, Cunningham has chipped up to 54,000.

Never Trust a Man With Two First Names

Hold'em -

Jordan Morgan opened the betting with a raise to 4,000. John-Paul Kelly moved it up to 10,500, and Morgan reraised the full pot in response. Kelly moved all in, and Morgan made the call.

Morgan: {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}
Kelly: {A-Clubs} {A-Spades}

The board gave Morgan some more outs, but never got him all the way there. It ran out {6-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}, and Morgan is crippled--down to just 1,600 chips.

Buchanan Getting Aggressive

If you're paying attention to the chip counts, you'll see Shawn Buchanan's chip count fluctuating a good amount. He is playing pots left and right and often they never make it to a showdown. He'll either fold to a big bet or push out his opponent. It seemed like a decent strategy for Buchanan when he was gaining chips, but has been up and down since.

Sitar and Fitzgerald Dueling

Hold'em -

Kenneth Fitzgerald limps into the pot from the button, and both blinds join him in a cheap flop. The first three cards off are {10-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}, and action checks around.

Fourth street is the {8-Diamonds}. Max Pescatori leads out from the small blind with a bet of 2,500, and Dustin Sitar bumps it up to 10,000. Fitzgerald stays around to see the river, but Pescatori ducks out.

That street brings the {6-Hearts}. Sitar pushes out a bet of 12,000, and Fitzgerald obliges him with the call.

When the hands are turned over, Sitar has the winner with {9-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}, as his open-ended straight draw came through for him. With that win, he has moved up to 87,000, while Fitzgerald has fallen slightly behind him at 85,000.
