Show Them the Money

After more than a half hour of searching, we've found our last out-of-the-money finisher. John-Paul Kelly raised from the button, making it 4,200 to go. Brian Schwartz was sitting in the big blind with just 2,900 left. He stood up and nodded knowingly at the blank table in front of him. After a moment, he let out, "Gamble," and tossed his chips into the pot.

Kelly: {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}
Schwartz: {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Spades} {2-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {A-Hearts}, giving Kelly the nut flush, and sending Schwartz home without a paycheck.

After bursting the bubble, nine minutes have been added to the play clock, and we have resumed normal dealing.

Bubble Boy?

Larry Satterwhite moved all in from under the gun for his last small stack of 1,900 little chips. He got called in four places, by Allen Kessler, Hilbert Shirey, David Penly, and Shawn Buchanan. The board ran out {2-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}.

Satterwhite needed to beat four opponents, and somehow he managed to. He flipped over {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {9-Spades}, and with his flopped full house, he quintuples up and stays alive on the bubble.

Still Going...

We've played about eight hands so far in the hand-for-hand format, and still haven't found a bubble boy. We've just switched back to Omaha as well.

Crane Eliminated

Hold'em -

A bunch of raising occurred back and forth between Ward Crane and Kyle Hegeman preflop before both players found themselves all in. Hegeman had Crane covered with his chip stack and with the cards.

Hegeman: {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}
Crane: {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

The flop was a real powerhouse for Hegeman. He caught not one, but two aces and ended Crane's tournament just like that. The board read {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {J-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} at the end and Crane was sent packing.

Hegeman is now up to 114,000.

Respect for Mizzi

Sorel Mizzi has just won two reasonably-sized pots in a row, without seeing a flop.

On the first, Dustin Sitar began the action with a raise to 4,500. Howard Lederer made the call from the cutoff seat, and Mizzi reraised them both to 15,300. Sitar quickly folded, but Lederer wasn't so sure. He took a few minutes before finally relinquishing his hand.

On the second, Jonathan Depa came in from under the gun with a raise to 4,200. Hilbert Shirey reraised the full pot, and Mizzi came over the top of two players again, this time all in for approximately 48,000. Both of his opponents tanked hard before they eventually folded their hands in turn.

With those two back-to-back uncontested wins, Mizzi adds a ton of chips to his stack, and now sits with 63,400. Max Pescatori noticed the trend. "Must be nice never showing a hand," he quipped.
