'Deuces' Cracking the Competition

As many of you know, Vanessa Selbst stormed onto the live tournament scene last summer, posting a third place finish in the $5,000 version of the WSOP Heads Up Championships. Earlier this week she silenced all critics after besting Australian Jamie Pickering in a wild heads up match, to earn her first career WSOP gold bracelet.

Vanessa has collaborated with friends and fellow pros Jonas Entin, Emil Patel, Jason Rosenkrantz, Brian Roberts and John Snipes (amongst others) to form the online poker coaching site DeucesCracked.com.

Why is this relevant, you ask? All six of the aforementioned pros affiliated with the site entered the $10,000 Heads Up Championships and five of them skated through to the round of 32! The only one who didn't make the cut was John Snipes and he was eliminated by Selbst herself in the opening round of the tournament.

More impressive still is the fact that the round of 32 is just a couple of pages away from being in the books and three members of the DeucesCracked posse (Selbst, Entin and Patel) have already clinched their spots in the sweet sixteen! Suffice it to say 50% ain't bad.

Selbst explained that the site mostly caters to cash game players, though she did admit that her crew plays 'a ton of heads up.' Needless to say, it shows.
