He's Got A Mouth To Go With Those Glasses

Rolf Slotboom
Rolf Slotboom
Rolf Slotboom raised to 3,000 from the cutoff, the button reraised to 9,500 and Slotboom warned him "Do you realize I haven't played any hands in forever," as he shoved his last 9,500 in the pot. The button nodded and insta-called. Both Players ended up chopping the pot with {A-?} {K-?} , so Rolf will get to keep entertaining the table with his antics, though his 18,000 stack is a bit short.

Expect the Pace to Slow

As we approach the bubble we expect play and eliminations to slow down somewhat. This is doubly true as it's nearing the end of a long day's play and players are tired and afraid of making mistakes. The thinking being to get in to the money and come back fresh tomorrow to try and make a charge for the final table.

Bilney Bashed

Sarah Bilney is down to 8,500 after she called a 3,000 bet on a {Q-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs} flop and a 10,000 all in bet on a turn of {5-Clubs} with {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds}. Her opponent showed {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs}, Bilney failed to fill up on the river and she was flushed down to 8,500.

Jaffray Back in Business

Alan Jaffray
Alan Jaffray
Alan Jaffray, once the chip leader, let his stack slip to 22,000 and was dangerously close to being sent to the rail, but a double up has put him back on track.

With 12,000 in the pot on the flop, he pushed all in for his last 16,750 on a {8-Hearts} {7-Spades} {2-Clubs} board and was called.

His opponent showed {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts} while he tabled {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} . The {8-Diamonds} on the turn meant Alan was one card away from being eliminated, but Jaffray made his straight on the river when the {J-Clubs} fell.

He now sits at 45,500.
