Fitoussi Eliminated

And just a few hands later, another gigantic cooler for Fitoussi -- this one his ultimate cooler, sending him to the rail.

Justin Filtz raised to 28,000 preflop, and Fitoussi went all in for another 90,000. Call.

Filtz: {Q-?} {10-?}
Fitoussi: {A-?} {Q-?}

Board: {Q-?} {8-?} {3-?} {10-?} {4-?}

Ouch. And so our final Frenchman departs.

Minieri Hangs Tough

The action folded round to Kevin Song in the cutoff who made it 35,000 to play. The button folded, but Dario Minieri pushed all in from the small blind.

With his cap shadowing his facial expression, and thus his reaction to the all-in, Song was statuesque as he mulled over his decision.

In stark contrast, Minieri leapt up from the table and stood behind his seat, his orange and brown Roma scarf pulled up over his mouth like a cowboy's bandana.

Eventually Song folded, leaving himself with 375,000, whilst Minieri climbed to 325,000.

Gigantic Cooler for Fitoussi

Bruno Fitoussi raised utg preflop, and got a call from John O'Shea in the small blind to see a {K-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {3-Clubs} flop. At which point everything went crazy -- O'Shea led out for 35,000, Fitoussi made it another 80,000, O'Shea went all in, and Fitoussi called.

Fitoussi: {K-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} for top two pair
O'Shea: {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} for bottom set

No help from the {A-Spades} on the turn or the {4-Clubs} on the river, and O'Shea is up to 740,000 while Fitoussi sinks to just 111,000.

Stephen Pierson Eliminated

Three players saw a {10-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {8-Diamonds} flop without a raise, among them Bruno Fitoussi and Stephen Pierson. Once the flop was there, Pierson and Fitoussi got their chips in, Pierson all in.

Pierson: {J-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}
Fitoussi: {Q-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}

"Oh," said Pierson, rather unnecessarily, "I'm in bad shape."

Turn: {Q-Hearts}

River: {3-Hearts}

Thus Pierson is eliminated, and players are now on a 20-minute break.

Dario Slows Down

Dario Minieri
Dario Minieri
With his fierce reputation, Dario Minieri tends to play his big hands equally fast, his non-believing opponents often supplying him with plenty of action. On the last hand, however, Minieri changed gears and decided to slow-play his pocket queens, {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

With the blinds at 4,000 and 8,000 with a running ante of 1,000, Minieri limped under the gun, Todd Terry called from the button, Kevin Song made up the small blind and Scotty Nguyen checked the big.

Flop = {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Dario checked his set, his opponents checked behind.

Turn = {6-Diamonds}

With the blinds checking, Minieri decided to lead out for a bet of 16,000 and received two callers in Terry and Song.

River = {2-Hearts}

Again Minieri fired first, quickly chucking 40,000 in the pot. Just the one caller this time, Terry mucking upon being shown the ladies.

A near double-through for Minieri who now sits on 235,000.

Fischer Struggling

Seth Fischer is dropping down the rankings and in desperate need of a double-through with around 130,000 in chips. If he had been thinking of making a move on the last hand and defending his blind, he did well to resist, Justin Filtz raising from the small blind before revealing a bullet.
