Tales from the Rail

John O'Shea
John O'Shea
After Justin Filtz and John O'Shea had checked down a 4-3-3-3-2 board, O'Shea announced a full house, showing A-2 in the process.

"Good catch on the river," commented Filtz.

"My ace wasn't good?" inquired O'Shea.

"No, I had you until the river," came the response.

"No, my ace was definitely good."

"I had ace-jack."

"Your eight flashed when you folded though."

"You didn't see correctly then."

"You should continue bet that flop anyway."

... and it's game on.

Todd Terry Eliminated

Todd Terry
Todd Terry
We have a surprise elimination in the form of Todd Terry, the latest decently stacked player to fall prey to the rampaging Dario Minieri.

Minieri raised preflop to 35,000, and Terry made it 110,000. Minieri moved all in, and Terry called for around 500,000.

Terry: {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Minieri: er, {7-Diamonds} {6-Spades}

Board: {2-Hearts} {5-Spades} {7-Hearts} {2-Spades} {5-Diamonds}

Terry is OUT, and Minieri is now up to 1.85 million, almost a third of the chips in play.

Alon Shahar Eliminated

Alon Shahar
Alon Shahar
Dario Minieri has become the first player to break that one million mark after dashing the hopes of onetime chip leader Alon Shahar.

With Minieri raising it up to 35,000 from the button, Shahar made the call from the small blind leading to both players seeing a {J-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop.

Shahar bet out 70,000, Minieri made it 220,000 and Shahar pushed all in for just over 300,000. Minieri called.

Minieri = {K-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Shahar = {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Turn = {2-Spades}

River = {Q-Spades}

Minieri is now on 1,200,000.

The Ups and Downs of Frank Rusnak

Frank Rusnak has been on a roller-coaster ride the past few hands.

He button-raised to 27,000, only for Justin Filtz to make it another 72,000. To which Rusnak responded by going over the top for another 300,000. "So sick," sighed Filtz, " I know you have nothing." He folded anyway.

-------

The next hand Rusnak raised to 27,000 again from the cutoff. Kevin Song made it another 54,000 from the button and again Rusnak came over the top, comfortably covering Song, who called.

Rusnak: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}
Song: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}

Board: {K-Clubs} {3-Spades} {4-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {4-Hearts}

Rusnak now sinks down to 326,000.

"Such an Obvious Bluff"

Todd Terry limped on the button, Scotty Nguyen made up the small blind, and Dario Minieri raised to 50,000 from the big. Terry called, Nguyen passed.

Flop = {Q-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Minieri bet 65,000, Terry called.

Turn = {K-Spades}

Minieri bet 200,000.

Terry dwelt before announcing, "Such an obvious bluff," and folding.

Minieri is now on 890,000 and remains chip leader.

Balancing Tables

It has been decided that when they get down to eight players, they will play on two tables of four, and when they make seven, they will merge down to a single table until they lose one.
