A Change of Pace

As happened in Event No. 28, the $5,000 PLO w/rebuys tourney, we find ourselves emerging from the frenzied rebuy period into a fairly deep-stacked tourney.

With blinds of 300/600 here in Level 6, an opening preflop raise can range from 1,200 to 2,100. Meanwhile, the average stack at the moment is around 33,000.

Level: 6

Blinds: 300/600

1,350 Rebuys

We ended up with 320 entrants altogether. Over half the field is gone here at the end of Level 5, with 148 still alive.

Those 320 players ended up rebuying a total of 1,350 times (rebuys & add-ons), creating a prize pool of over $2.4 million. The player finishing first will net a cool $577,725.

Mizzi Eliminates Elezra

Sorel Mizzi and Eli Elezra saw a flop of {8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. Mizzi checked, Elezra bet 5,000, and then Mizzi check-raised the pot to 25,000. Elezra reraised with his remaining chips -- 10,000 more -- and Mizzi made the call.

Mizzi {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Elezra {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}

A tough spot for Elezra. Neither the turn nor river brought the jack he needed to make a better boat, and Elezra has been eliminated.

Mizzi is up to 110,000.
