Boyer Beats Two Flushes

Andre Boyer's so good, he can outdraw not just one flush, but two flushes. Danny Kalpakis made a queen-high flush in clubs; Max Troy made an ace-high flush in diamonds. Andre Boyer didn't have a threatening board: {7-Hearts} {8-Spades} {J-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}, but then he turned over {Q-Spades} {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds} in the hole for a full house, sevens full of queens.

Chris Tryba Eliminated in 14th Place ($6,240)

Chris Tryba's run has finally ended. He was all in on third street against Michael Rocco and Roy Rose. Rose bet every street to the river, bringing stares and cries of incredulity from Rocco. Rose finally checked on the river, eliciting a bet from Rocco which Rose quickly called. Rose made aces up to take the side pot; that was also enough to take the main pot and eliminate Chris Tryba after Tryba could only produce a pair of jacks.

Tryba earns $6,240 in prize money.

Torosyan Tries to Return Last Year's Favor

...but can't quite do it. He had Greg Pappas all in on fifth street. Their boards were:

Torosyan: {8-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}
Pappas: {2-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}

Torosyan finished with aces and queens. Pappas caught the {3-Diamonds} on sixth street, then squeezed the river to find the {7-Diamonds} for a small diamond flush. He has about 46,000 in chips now; Torosyan is in trouble again with just 20,000.

Deja Vu?

Levon Torosyan was just all in against Greg Pappas. Torosyan remarked that last year, in this same event, he was eliminated by Pappas and didn't want the same thing to happen again.

Pappas didn't recall the elimination last year, but he also didn't eliminate Torosyan on this particular hand. Torosyan instead doubled up to 50,000, simultaneously dropping Pappas to 46,000.

Presented Without Comment

Ted Forrest, playing on a nearby table in Event #34 - $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys, just walked by the two remaining stud tables and said, "I can see all the best stud players made the final two tables."

Landrum Triples!

Sabyl Landrum
Sabyl Landrum
After Chris Tryba brought it in with the {2-Spades}, Sabyl Landrum completed with the {J-Spades}. She was raised by Bryan Devonshire and his {K-Hearts}. Tryba called(!), before Landrum reraised. Devonshire put in the third raise, which Tryba again called, before Landrum raised the fourth time all in. Both Devonshire and Tryba called.

Devonshire folded Tryba on fourth street with a single bet after pairing kings, to be alone against Landrum for the main pot. The boards came:

Landrum: {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs}
Devonshire: {A-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {10-Spades}

Landrum's full house, queens full of fives, was more than enough to take down Devonshire's kings. She now has about 49,000 in chips.

Stake My Daddy!

Michael Rocco is wearing a shirt that has a picture of his son Oliver on one side and the phrase "Stake My Daddy" on the other. One of our field reporters asked Rocco if it worked. He replied that it did; Jeff Lisandro bought a piece of him in today's event.
