Isaia Getting Short of Chips and Time

Alessio Isaia is running out of chips. He tried to run a stone bluff on Mike Hefer, reraising Hefer on third street with an {A-Clubs} after Hefer completed with a {K-Diamonds} and then betting every street until the river. Hefer stuck with him the whole way after making four to a flush on fourth street and finishing with a pair of queens. That was enough to win the pot.

Isaia is down to just 34,000 chips, while Hefer is at a more comfortable 136,000.

Erdman Straightens Out

On fourth street:

Travis Erdman: x-x / {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Daniel Nicewander: x-x / {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Mickey Seagle: x-x / {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Seagle bets and the others call.

Fifth street:
Erdman: {J-Diamonds}
Nicewander: {3-Spades}
Seagle: {K-Clubs}

Everyone checks.

Sixth street:
Erdman: {9-Clubs}
Nicewander: {4-Clubs}
Seagle: {3-Clubs}

Everyone checks to Erdman, who bets. Nicewander folds and Seagle calls.

Seventh street:
Erdman bets and Seagle calls.

Erdman: {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}
Seagle: {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

Erdman has the straight and takes it all.

Steven Metzger Eliminated ($3,638)

Steven Metzger had only 12,900 chips left with limits of 4,000 and 8,000. He completed Vince Burgio's bring-in and only Men "The Master" Nguyen called. Metzger was all in on fifth street (Nguyen commented, "If you don't bet, I will"). They opened their hands:

Metzger: {Q-Hearts} {2-Clubs} / {Q-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {7-Spades}
Nguyen: {A-Spades} {5-Diamonds} / {8-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}

"What do you have, two pair?" asked Nguyen.
"Just queens," replied Metzger.
"I have made low with a gutshot draw," said Nguyen.
"I know, you have a free shot at me," said Metzger.

Nguyen hit a seven on both sixth street and seventh street, but just one of them was enough to give him an unbeatable hand both ways after Metzger caught an eight on sixth street. Metzger is out in 25th place.

A New Chip Leader Emerges

Thomas Hunt III has been at the top of the leaderboard most of the day, yet he hasn't done much but tread water for the last seven hours. In the meantime, three players have passed him on the leaderboard, including our new chip leader, James Richburg, who has about 170,000 in chips.

Slowdown

As we get close to three tables, play has grinded down to a slow crawl. It may also be the case that there are two more bust-outs this level, and nobody wants to be one of them.

Craig Gray Eliminated ($3,638)

Craig Gray is our 27th place finisher. He was all in on sixth street against Margaret Macre. Gray showed {A-Spades} {K-Spades} / {2-Spades} {10-Spades} {2-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} for a flush draw, a straight draw, and a trips / two pair draw. Macre showed {Q-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} / {Q-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {2-Clubs} for two pair. Gray couldn't come up with a card that improved him, drawing the {8-Clubs} on the river to Macre's {8-Diamonds}.

Gray earns $3,638 in prize money.

Stan the Man

Stan Zdanowich just had a timely double up. He got all in on third street with split aces against on opponent. By fifth street, Zdanowich made aces full of eights. His opponent was drawing live to the low half of the pot but didn't get there. Zdanowich scooped and is up to about 10,000 in chips.
