Dannenmann Doubles

2005 WSOP Main Event runner-up Steve Dannenmann opened with a raise from late position to 800 before the player in the cutoff position reraised to 2,000. Dannenmann made the call.

They took a flop of {5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Dannenmann moved his last 2,575 into the middle, but his opponent quickly called tabling {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. Dannenmann showed {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} for the nut flush draw and gutshot straight draw.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and both players made a straight, leaving Dannenmann freerolling with his flush draw.

The river completed his flush with the {6-Clubs} to give Dannenmann a healthy pot to move up to 9,000 in chips.

Shaniac Takes One Out

Shane Schleger raised it up preflop and the big blind was the lone caller. They took a flop of {K-?}{7-?}{J-?} and the big blind moved all in for 1,550 in total.

Schleger thought for a few moments but decided he was getting the right price to make the call with his pocket tens. It proved to be a good call as his opponent held {Q-?}{10-?} for just a straight draw.

The turn and river both bricked and Schleger takes the pot and eliminates his opponent. Schleger is now up to 7,400.

Pham Wins Race

David Pham raised it from under the gun before a player in late position moved all in. The blinds folded and Pham made the call.

Pham: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The board of {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{J-Spades} was safe for Pham as he eliminates another opponent to move to 13,000 chips.

Seif Calls and Chops

Mark Seif must've had a read after calling strong bets from an opponent on a board of {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Seif only held king-high with {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} but when the {Q-Diamonds} fell on the river both players slowed and checked it down.

Seif showed his hand thinking it was good, but his opponent flipped over {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for the same hand! Chop it up!

Ng Out

In a battle of the blinds, Evelyn Ng called the raise from the big blind and took a flop of {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

The small blind led out for 1,200 and Ng raised to 2,700. The small blind then reraised to 4,700 and Ng moved all in for 5,600 total. Her opponent made the call.

Ng: {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

Ng was on a straight draw but missed when the turn and river fell {10-?}{10-?} to send Ng heading towards the exit.

Cheung Spikes Two-Outer

Robert Cheung has just collected a nice pot and eliminated an opponent after getting lucky on the flop.

All the chips were in the middle preflop with Cheung's {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} up against both {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}.

However the board landed {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} to give Cheung a come-from-behind full house to move to close to 10,000 chips.

Gavin Gone

Mike Matusow recalled the hand to us regarding Gavin Smith's recent elimination from today's tournament.

An opponent had raised from middle position and Smith called out of the blinds. They saw a king-high flop and Smith check-raised all in holding K-J, but ran into the A-K of his opponent.

Matusow also provided some added commentary that Smith had played the hand badly, calling with such a hand out of position, and then pushing with his short stack when he had no fold equity.

It looks like Matusow wins that last-longer wager, as Smith heads back to the hotel.
