Raymer Takes It Down

On a flop of {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} {8-Diamonds} , Toto Leonidas led out for 4,000 and Raymer made the call. The turn brought the {A-Clubs} and Toto checked, Raymer fired 8,000 into the pot and Toto raised to 16,000. The {6-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Toto checked, which prompted Raymer to move all in. Toto ultimately folded, leaving Raymer with a nice stack of 58,000.

Amit Makhija Busts Soheil Shamseddin

And becomes the tournament chip leader in the process. Already possessing a huge stack Makhija reraised to 7,200 after Shamseddin raised to 2,500. Shamseddin then shipped in the rest of his sizable stack and Makhija made the call.

The race was on--Shamseddin had A-K to Makhija's QQ. The flop came...A-10-J, putting Soheil in the lead. And on the turn, a King, giving Amit the straight. Shamseddin didn't make his boat on the river and Mahkija added to his already massive stack.

Negreanu Boats Up

On a flop of {4-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} Daniel Negreanu checked-called a 2,500 bet by a single opponent. The turn brought the {5-Clubs} and again Daniel checked, then called a 5,000 bet. The {4-Spades} fell on the river and again Daniel checked, after which his opponent checked as well. Daniel turned over {J-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} and took down the pot with a full house, fours full of queens. Immediately after the hand, Phil Ivey pulled up a seat at the same table.

Lyric Duveyoung Eliminates Johnny Chan

Lyric Duveyoung has personally reduced the star power of Table #13. After seeing a flop of {5-Clubs} {2-Spades} {9-Hearts} and the turn of {3-Diamonds} Johnny Chan bet 5,000 and Duveyoung moved all in. Chan called and showed {A-Spades} {5-Spades}, while Duveyoung rolled over {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts}. The {K-Hearts} fell on the river and Chan was eliminated.

Perhaps still stinging from the previous hand he lost to Duveyoung, Phil Hellmuth couldn't help from chiming in. "That's what happens when a crazy guy gets hot," he said, "but then they bust out quickly."

He went on to say, "My time costs a lot of money, son. It's 50,000 a date. You have to pay me, then I spank you."

Lyric Duveyoung Eliminates Allen Cunningham, Doubles Thru Phil Hellmuth

Lyric Duveyoung has been pushing all in with weakish hands and showing the table, but when he pushed with pocket tens after Phil Hellmuth limped Allen Cunningham called for the last of his chips. Hellmuth snap-called and showed {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}, while Cunningham tabled {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {3-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {3-Clubs} and Cunningham was eliminated while Duveyoung doubled through Hellmuth. Phil wasn't thrilled about the result, saying he knew Duveyoung was going to push and that's why he just limped with his Big Slick.

Unlucky #13

With only 776 entries to today's event, it's of no real surprise that many of the professionals within the field will find themselves seated with other professionals.

However, what is a rarity, is when Johnny Chan, Phil Hellmuth, Allen Cunningham, and Lee Watkinson all end up at the same table, aptly table #13. We're only playing nine handed, so rest assured the other five players aren't feeling too lucky right about now.

Batista Crippled

After an early position player made it 1,800 to go preflop, the cutoff and the button both called while Chad "lilholdem" Batista moved all-in for 30,000. The early position player called, showed pocket queens, while Batista turned over pocket deuces. The board was of no help to Batista who is now down to just 8,000.

Jamie Gold Has Been Eliminated

Billy Baxter limped into the pot, Dane Lomas called, and Jamie Gold moved all in. Baxter called...and Lomas moved all in for 3,700 more.

"How'd I get into this mess?" Baxter said before making the call. Here's the hands:

Gold: {6-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}
Baxter: {6-Spades} {7-Spades}
Lomas: {8-Hearts} {8-Spades}

The board ran out {4-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and Lomas tripled up to 20,000 while Baxter fell to 27,000. Gold, however, is out.
