Welcome Back, Theo

Theo Tran
Theo Tran
Look out players. Theo Tran just dragged a huge pot.

Though he was our overnight chip leader, Theo has had a difficult time getting anything going today, and was in the middle of the pack with 80,000 at the dinner break.

Now he has a bit more.

A player in a late position opened the pot with a raise, and Theo made the call. From the blind, Mark Calzadillas came over the top of both players, moving all in with a big stack. The initial raiser folded, but Tran made the call fairly quickly, showing down {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} . Calzadillas was in big trouble with {K-Clubs} {Q-Spades} .

When the flop hit, he was already done for. It came {K-Spades} {4-Clubs} {4-Spades} , making a boat for Theo Tran and leaving Calzadillas drawing dead to a running chop. The turn and river ragged off, and Tran removed Calzadillas from his newfound stack of chips.

After the dust settled, Theo Tran regained the chip lead with a massive 343,000, while Calzadillas was sent off to wait in the cashier's line just behind the player he knocked out moments before.
