J.J. Liu Rides Again

J.J. Liu is still scrapping away. She got her stack into the middle holding pocket queens and was called by a player holding pocket nines. Neither player improved. After the pot was pushed to Liu, her stack was up to about 9,000 chips.

Fricke Flops Flush

From the big blind, Jimmy Fricke was the only caller of a raise to 550 from an opponent in the cutoff. Both players checked the {3-Spades} {4-Spades} {K-Spades} flop. Fricke bet 800 on a turn card of {A-Clubs}. His opponent called. The river {J-Clubs} brought another bet from Fricke, this time for 1,850. His opponent made the call and was shown the bad news: Fricke had flopped a flush with {Q-Spades} {9-Spades}.

Fricke is now up to about 15,000 chips.

Nam Le Gets Big Double-up

The player under the gun raised to 600 and action folded around to Nam Le in the small blind. Le reraised all in for 5,000 total. The big blind passed and the initial raiser made the call. The players showed:

The community cards helped neither player, coming {K-Spades} {7-Spades} {3-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {4-Hearts}, and Le doubled up to just over 10,000 chips.
