Is this a Turbo Event?

With the most recent update, the official tournament clock reads 408 players remaining. That means that in less than four hours of play, less than one third of the original starting field remains.

Max Pescatori Eliminated

After a raise to 625 from the under-the-gun player, Max Pescatori called from the cutoff seat, as did the big-blind player. The flop came {K-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}. The big blind bet 1,500 and the initial raiser passed. Pescatori raised all in for 3,600 and got a quick call. The players showed:

Pescatori: {A-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}
Opponent: {8-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}

The turn and river came the {3-Diamonds} and {4-Clubs}, respectively, which were no help to the Italian and he was eliminated.

Hevad Khan Eliminated

There will be no excessive celebrations for Hevad Khan today. We're not quite sure how the money got in the middle, but it was all in preflop. Khan had pocket sixes. His opponent, who had him covered, showed pocket tens. Neither improved on a board of {A-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {9-Clubs}. Khan has exited the Amazon Room.

That Feels Good...

For whatever reason, be it a prop bet gone wrong, a coordinated stunt for attention, or just a massive coincidence, five of the six players seated at table #12 are getting massages.

Akenhead Eliminated

The eliminations have been so rapid today, we can hardly keep up. Most recently James Akenhead was eliminated. He moved all in preflop with {A-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} only to be called by an opponent holding pocket aces. Akenhead couldn't pull a miracle escape. The board came {5-?} {Q-?} {10-?} {6-?} {3-?} to send him to the rail.

Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy Eliminated

On a flop of {8-Hearts} {7-Spades} {5-Hearts}, the big blind bet 600 and was called by a player in middle position. Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy moved all in for 3,300 from the cutoff seat and was called the middle position caller. The players showed:

Josephy: {6-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}
Opponent: {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts}

The turn hit Josephy as it fell the {4-Clubs} but the {3-Hearts} on the river gave his opponent the winning flush and sent him packing.

Two More Names Fall

Humberto Brenes and Jennifer Tilly are both out. Brenes got his stack in preflop holding pocket sevens and was called by a player holding {K-Spades} {Q-Spades}. Brenes lost the race when a queen hit the flop.

Tilly went out in more dramatic fashion. She checked a flop of {8-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts} over to her opponent, who bet 950. After some thought, Tilly check-raised to 3,000. Her opponent, who had her covered, moved all in and Tilly made the call.

Tilly: {A-Spades} {8-Clubs}
Opponent: {8-Spades} {8-Hearts}

Tilly was drawing dead to running aces; the board came running tens. She is out.

David Williams Eliminated by Hevad "Rain" Khan

David Williams Eliminated
David Williams Eliminated
Action folded around to David Williams on the button. Williams raised to 600. Hevad Khan reraised to 2,200 from the small blind and Williams wasted no time moving all in for 3,600 total. Khan made a quick call and the players showed:

Khan: {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts}
Williams: {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {J-Hearts} and Khan's nines trumped Williams' ace high. After Williams was out of earshot, Khan told us that he was the seventh player Khan had eliminated thus far.
