Random Table Chatter

"I like you sir, so I'm going to let you stay around for a while."

A player moves all in, and after his opponent finally folds he says, "Oh thank God.."

"What do you expect? I'm Russian."

"You know, they should write that down!" The player looks around and sees about six reporters. "Oh, I guess they are."

Dealer shouts out, "All in and a raise!" Everyone at about three tables looks over like, "Huh?" The dealer, embarrassed, says, "Never mind."

Another Man Down

Chris Verkerk - Eliminated
Chris Verkerk - Eliminated
Chris Verkerk has been short-stacked for quite a while. He decided to go with {K-Spades} {10-Spades} all in preflop, but ran into Juan Naranjo's pocket aces. Verkerk could only come up with a pair of tens when all of the community cards were in the middle. He is eliminated.

Kenna James Busts

Kenna James out on Day 1b
Kenna James out on Day 1b
Kenna James was visited by Steve Dannenmann a few minutes ago. The two chatted and even sang some Elvis together.

With Dannenmann watching from the side, James raised to 1,600. Edward Teems called from the small blind. The flop came down {K-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {3-Clubs} and both players checked.

The turn was the {K-Spades} and Teems checked again to James. James bet 1,500 and Teems made it 4,500. James called.

The river was the {7-Spades} and Teems put James all in. Kenna made the call with {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}. Teems held {3-Spades} {3-Hearts} for a full house. With his friend Dannenmann watching, James exited the tournament.

Phillip Hilm Triples Up

Phillip Hilm
Phillip Hilm
After falling all the way down to just 3,625 in chips, Phillip Hilm reraised all in from the small blind for his whole stack. He got action from the under-the-gun player who had opened for a raise, as well as from the small blind. The big blind player bet on the turn, prompting a fold from the initial raiser.

The big blind flipped up {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} but that was no match for Hilm's {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}. The {J-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {3-Spades} {2-Spades} board helped neither player and Hilm tripled up to just over 11,000.

Massage Kenna?

Steve Dannenmann just came over to Orange 11 and started giving Kenna James a massage. Apparently Dannenmann commented on James' sexiness at a couple of points during the massage.

Afterwards they started serenading the table with Elvis songs.

You can't make this stuff up folks.

Set Over Set is Gold

...when you're the guy on the top half. Ben Sarnoff was recently that guy. On a board of {8-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {7-Hearts}, Sarnoff got it all in against one opponent. That opponent held pocket sixes; Sarnoff held pocket eights. The turn and river came {J-Spades} {5-Hearts}, eliminating Sarnoff's opponent and rocketing him to the top of our leaderboard with over 160,000 in chips.

Rasmus Nielsen Doubles Through Phillip Hilm

Rasmus Nielsen - Event #49
Rasmus Nielsen - Event #49
We caught up to this hand on the turn. With the board reading {K-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}, Rasmus Nielsen checked to Phillip Hilm and Hilm bet 12,500. Nielsen moved all in for 32,500 and Hilm made the call. The players showed:

Hilm: {4-Clubs} {3-Clubs}
Nielsen: {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}

The river fell the {5-Clubs} and Nielsen doubled to just over 90,000. Hilm took a big hit on the hand and now sports just under 42,000 chips.

Aces Hold For Thor Hansen

Thor Hansen
Thor Hansen
A player who moved all in before the flop with Thor Hansen did not heed my advice about not running your big pairs into aces. He held {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} to Hansen's {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} and when the board ran out {8-Spades} {9-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} his Main Event was at an end and Hansen was up to 75,000.

Giles Wins a Race

Giles Smadia
Giles Smadia
Giles Smadia reraised to 3,000 preflop after a player made it 1,000 to go. The player moved all in for 10,525 and Smadia made the call. Smadia would be racing, but held a slight lead with {4-Spades} {4-Clubs} against his opponent's {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {8-Spades} {8-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {5-Spades} and Smadia recorded the knockout. He has now increased his chip stack to 105,000 and is looking strong.

Donna Blevins Eliminated

As we get towards the end of the evening, players are trying to double up or go home. The latest is Donna Blevins, whose pocket nines were no match for Rainer Meyer's pocket jacks, especially after Meyer flopped a jack. Blevins was eliminated on the hand.
