David Tran is best known for taking second at the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open in January. He also finished an incredible 14th at last year's WSOP main event. He has yet to win a bracelet, though - the one he's got on in the photo is decorative.

Excessive Celebration?

Six players (yes, six) limped in and saw a flop of {Q-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}. An early-position player led out for 600, Bernard Lee raised to 2,600 and only the EP player called. The turn was the {K-Spades}. The EP player checked, Lee bet 4,000 and the EP player called. The river was the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Lee turned up {7-Clubs} {9-Hearts} for two pair, besting his opponent's {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts}. Lee clapped his hands together and said "Ship it!" as the pot was pushed toward him.

"That was borderline excessive celebration, sir" deadpanned the dealer.

"Are you serious?" asked Lee.

"No," said the dealer with a laugh and a shake of his head.

Lee is up to 21,000.

The Benefit of the Daut

Ryan Daut was down to about 11,500 when he raised to 600 from under the gun and got two callers. The flop came {J-Spades}{K-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Daut bet 1,100, not enough to scare away either opponent, as both called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds}. This time Daut tried a bet of 4,000. Again, both called.

The river was the {A-Clubs}. Daut only had 6,145 left, so he shoved it in the middle. One opponent dropped out, but the other called.

Daut showed {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for the flopped set. His opponent had A-K for two pair. Daut is now back up to 29,000.

Mats Not the Way to do It

A player in the cutoff raised to 600 and both the button and Mats Rahmn, in the big blind, called. The flop came {9-Hearts} {10-Spades} {J-Clubs}.

The player in the cutoff bet 2,100 before the button raised to 5,000. Rahmn raised again to 13,175. The cutoff player folded before the button called all in with {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades}. Rahmn showed {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs}.

The turn came {3-Hearts} and river {3-Spades} and the queens held up. Rahmn is down to 4,925 now.

Postle Doubles Up

Board: {2-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}

We caught this hand on the turn, between Mike Postle and Travis Rice. Postle made a small bet on the river, with Rice shoving all in for close to 20,000. Postle called and showed 2-6 for a full house, with Rice showing {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs} for a pair of sixes.

After the hand, Postle is up over 50,000 while Rice was shorted down to 8,000.

No Clemency from Clements

Scott Clements raised to 600 and had one player call behind him. The flop came {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}. Clements bet 750 and was called. The turn was the {4-Clubs}. This time Clements checked, his opponent bet 1,500, and Clements called.

The river was the {8-Diamonds}. Clements didn't wait too long before firing out a bet of 3,000. His opponent tanked for a couple of minutes before finally calling.

Clements showed {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, and his opponent mucked. Clements is up to 30,000.

Fewer Players, More Energy

We reported earlier that things have certainly been quiet here in the Amazon room. However, in the last thirty minutes or so, things have really picked up. Chatter is now a constant at almost every table and it's been a nice replacement to the always dull sound of chips shuffling between fingers.

This is a huge improvement over earlier today, yet we're not sure exactly what caused it.

Maybe it's because of all the eliminations thus far, or maybe it was Phil Hellmuth's grand entry earlier.

Hua-t a Turn

A player in middle position opened with a raise to 600 that C.K. Hua, in the small blind, and Filipe Mojave, in the big blind, both called. The flop came {6-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}.

Hua led out for 1,500 before Mojave went all in for 8,875. The original aggressor folded before Hua made the call with {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts}. He was behind Mojave's {A-Spades} {J-Hearts}.

It was a diffrent story as the turn came {K-Spades} and river {8-Hearts}--a very unlucky way to get outdrawn and eliminated for Mojave.

Hua is up to 57,300 as a result.
