Just the Nuts

Jennifer Tilly just turned the nuts, and then rivered them again, when her {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} filled a Broadway straight and made a flush on a board of {J-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}. She is up to 14,300.

A Gust of Wind and You're Off

Gusten Sjoberg has just eliminated another player after a perfect river card dropped for him. It completed the board as {2-?} {5-?} {6-?} {4-?} {7-?}.

Sjoberg had {3-?} {3-?} meaning he completed a straight whereas his opponent had {7-?} {7-?} making top set on the river. All the chips went in and the rest is history.

Sjoberg up to 66,000 now.

Two Games at Once

A player over on table #34 in Brasilia was chatting it up with some lady folks when they stopped by to see him. The player wasn't involved in a big hand, but was taking some extra time to act when it was his turn. The ladies certainly weren't your ugly ducklings and one could see why he was distracted.

This went on for a few moments before the dealer chimed in, "Let's concentrate on one game at a time here, guys."

The players at the table all got a kick out of this and then the ladies moved on.

On a flop of {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {8-Clubs} Chris Ferguson checked from the small blind, the button bet 1,500 and Ferguson called. The turn was the {9-Diamonds}. Ferguson checked, the button bet 3,000 and Ferguson called. The river was the {4-Diamonds}. Ferguson checked and the button checked behind.

Ferguston showed {K-Clubs} {5-Clubs}, but the button had him outkicked with {K-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}. Ferguson slipped to 22,000 after the hand.

Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin and Jesse Martin were all in on the flop. The board read {Q-Spades} {J-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}. Ramdin held {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} and Martin held {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts}. Martin was poised to double up pending the turn and river.

Pressure Poker

From late position, Maria Ho raised to 850. Jeff Shulman, with the button, reraised to 2,300. Ho then pushed her whole stack of 20,850 into the middle. Shulman went into the tank for four minutes before finally folding.

Ho now has about 25,500 in chips.

Oh No, Donna

Raising and then calling an all-in preflop, Donna Varlotto has {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} and her opponent has {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The door card is a {Q-Hearts} - and the board comes {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}! Flopped quads and Donna is down to 15,500.

Somewhere, her boyfriend, Steve Wong, has a cold chill and doesn't know why. And then, the phone rings...
