Bawden Bows Out

If it gets to the stage where all your chips are going in preflop, you know you're in trouble. Travers Bawden was all in preflop with {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} and got called by an opponent who woke up with {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}. Bawden couldn't connect with a board that ran out {10-Spades} {2-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {5-Hearts} and has been eliminated from the tournament.

Hoodie Power!

Alan Jaffray raised to 2,500 from under the gun and was put all in by the small blind for around 20,000 total. Jaffray called.

Jaffray held {Q-?} {Q-?} and his opponent {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}

Board: {10-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {J-Spades} {9-Hearts}

After the hand, Jaffray is up to 42,100. Jaffray attributed his win to "Hoodie Power." He said that after he put up his hoodie, he got two big hands.

Brett Faustman Eliminated

It was your classic (yet never cliche) coin flip, with Faustman holding {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} to his opponent's {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}. The {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {6-Spades} {3-Spades} {9-Clubs} board didn't help Faustman's hand and his Main Event came to an end. "Nice playing with you, kid," Joe Hachem said as Brett got up from his seat.

Everybody's Movin', Everybody's Groovin'

We started with 65 full tables over in the Brasilia Room. We're down to the last two, as tables have been breaking and moving over to the main Amazon room at a mighty fast clip.

When these last two get moved, all of the remaining Day 2b players will be playing in the Amazon. Though they're moving around in there, too, as players continue to bust out.

Nicely Done

Before the flop, the player from the cutoff raised to 2,300 and Allen Cunningham reraised to 7,500 from the button. His opponent called and the flop came {8-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}; when the cutoff checked, Cunningham bet 8,000. The other player called, and when the {8-Spades} turned he checked again. This time Cunningham bet 9,000 and, this time, his opponent raised to 21,000. Cunningham thought it over a bit and then decided to move in for his last 27,100. It was only 6,100 for his opponent to call, but he said, "I can't beat anything. Good read," before mucking his cards. The crowd gathered along the rail applauded as Allen raked a pot that pushed his stack up to 82,000.

Binger, Banger, Busto

Binger Eliminated
Binger Eliminated
Preflop, Michael Binger raised to 2,500 and was called by Zachary Gregg and another player.

On a flop of {A-?} {Q-?} {6-?}, Binger bet out 6,000 and only Gregg called.

When the turn fell an {A-?}, Binger checked and then Gregg moved all in. Binger called and showed {A-?} {K-?} for a set of aces. Gregg showed {6-?} {6-?} for sixes full. The river fell a blank to both players and Binger was eliminated.

After the hand, Gregg moved up to 86,000 in chips.

Chip Jett Wins With the Varkonyi

Chip Jett raised to 2,200, the cutoff called and the big blind called. The flop was {J-Spades} {10-Clubs} {7-Clubs}. The big blind checked, Jett bet 3,000, the cutoff called and the big blind called. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and the action was checked around. The river was the {Q-Hearts}. The big blind checked, Jett bet 4,000, the cutoff folded and the big blind called.

Jett showed {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} for two pair and the big blind mucked. Jett is now sitting on a 90,000 stack.

Twenty-Six Percent

The number of players remaining today, added to the 466 players left at the end of Day 2a play, leaves 1,780 players, which is almost exactly 26 percent of the starting field.
