Cantu Can Do

Brandon Cantu has been on quite a run since dinner break, eliminating two players in back-to-back hands.

The first hand Cantu held pocket aces against his opponent's K-J. The aces held up and Cantu eliminated his first victim.

Immediately after, Cantu held A-K against an opponent who was all in with A-J. Again the hand held up for Cantu and his opponent was eliminated.

In just the first 12 minutes since dinner break ended, Cantu has increased his chip stack to 150,000.

Travis Rice Eliminated

Travis Rice was eliminated after getting all his chips in the middle preflop with A-K against an opponent who held pocket jacks. The board ran {9-Spades} {5-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {2-Spades} and the jacks held up for his opponent, sending Rice to the rail.

She Can Dodge Bullets, Baby

Earlier today Carmel Petresco cracked her opponent's pocket aces when she turned a set of jacks, and once again she avoided disaster when she once again was unfortunate to run into bullets. All the money went in before the flop with Carmel holding {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} to her opponent's{A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}, but the board ran out {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {5-Spades} {2-Spades}...{4-Clubs} and that four on the river meant both players had a wheel and the chop.

Battle of the Baby Sets

Phil Gordon
Phil Gordon
With a pot of 7,000 and a board showing {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}, two players, including Heather Escuin, checked to Phil Gordon who bet 15,000. Escuin then raised all in for a total of 32,000. The third player got out of the way, and Gordon made the call.

Escuin showed {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a set of threes, but Gordon had {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for the better set. The turn was the {K-Clubs} and the river the {6-Diamonds}, and Escuin is out. Gordon has now built his stack up to 155,000.

'Cause the Biebel Tells Me So

Peter Biebel raised to 2,700 from late position, and Scott Clements called from the cutoff. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}. Biebel bet 3,500, and Clements called. The turn was the {K-Spades}. Both checked.

The river was the {6-Spades}. Biebel bet 9,000. Clements thought a moment, but the size of Biebel's bet must've discouraged him, as he let it go.

Clements is at 63,000, while Biebel currently has about 320,000.

Liz Lieu Doubles

Liz Lieu from Day 1c
Liz Lieu from Day 1c
On a flop of {7-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {K-Clubs}, Liz Lieu moved all in holding {K-Spades} {J-Spades} and was called by an opponent who held {A-?}{J-?}. The king held for Lieu and after the hand she's back up to 45,000.

"Justice"

Alex Outhred opened the pot with a raise from the button, making it 3,500 to play. In the small blind, Tony Antonious reraised to 6,500, and Outhred called.

The flop came down {6-Hearts} {7-Spades} {10-Clubs}. Antonious led out with another 6,500 chips, and Outhred raised it up to 26,500. Antonious pushed back hard, moving all in for 66,500. Outhred made the call, having his man covered, and Antonious confidently tabled {8-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}. Despite his display, he was well behind the {6-Clubs} {7-Clubs} of Outhred.

The turn and river came {K-Clubs} and {J-Spades} respectively, and Antonious' Main Event is done.

After the hand, table mate Tiffany Michelle half-audibly said, "Justice," in reference to a bad beat he had run on her earlier in the day. Outhred comes out the big winner in this spot, and he has chipped all the way up to 329,000.

Bernard Lee Eliminated

Lee Eliminated
Lee Eliminated
The following hand was conveyed to us by Bernard Lee:

Preflop, a player in middle position raised to 2,600 and both Bernard Lee and a player in the big blind call.

On a flop of {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}, the middle position player bet out 3,500 and only Lee called. On the turn of the {3-Clubs} action was checked to Lee, who bet 9,600. The middle position player raised to 30,000. Bernard Lee then moved all in for 70,000 total. His opponent made the call.

Lee held {5-Clubs} {2-Clubs} for a jack high flush and a straight flush draw. His opponent held {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs} for ace high flush. Lee's one outer failed to hit when the {8-Diamonds} hit the river, and Bernard Lee is eliminated.

David Polsky Eliminated

The under-the-gun player raised to 2,500 and the button made the call. David Polsky called from the big blind and the three players took a flop.

The flop came {4-Spades} {3-Spades} {2-Diamonds} and Polsky led out for 4,100. The under-the-gun player called and the button raised to 12,000. Polsky called and the third player passed. It was heads up to the turn.

The turn came the {4-Diamonds} and Polsky moved all in for 41,000. The button called and the players showed:

Polsky: {6-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}
Opponent: {7-Hearts} {4-Hearts}

Polsky looked to double up, but the {7-Clubs} on the river foiled those plans. Polsky stood up, shook his head in disbelief, and headed for the exit.
