Win Some...

We missed the preflop action, but it ended with Brandon Cantu and Pat P. Callaghan in a classic race situation. Callaghan's tournament life was at stake, with his {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} taking on Cantu's {4-Spades} {4-Hearts}. Callaghan lost the flip when the board ran out ten high.

Andy Goetsch Eliminated, Vos up to 620K

The UTG player opened for 13,500, Andy Goetsch moved all in for 86,000, Mark Vos called from the small blind and the UTG player open-folded {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}.

Goetsch {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}

Vos {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs}

The board ran out {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {3-Hearts}. The UTG player coulda woulda shoulda made two pair on the turn, but Vos' kings held up to award him the pot and increase his stack to 620,000. Goetsch was eliminated.

Sometimes Dominating Hands Win

Even though it often seems like the dominated hand manages to suck out against the dominating hand, those dominating hands do hold up a fair amount of time. Mike Bertolini knows. Holding {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}, he called an all-in from Peter Wesselius, who tabled {A-Spades} {J-Clubs}. The flop came {4-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {2-Hearts}, improving neither player. The turn {9-Diamonds} meant Bertolini had to dodge only a jack on the river, which he did when the river fell {A-Hearts}.

Wesselius was eliminated on the hand.

Wicked Chops

Hannu Korva and Dylan Linde had it all in preflop. Korva had pocket sixes, and Linde {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The flop of {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} put Korva way ahead. But the {2-Clubs} on the turn and {5-Diamonds} on the river put a straight on the board, and they chopped. Korva currently has almost 300,000, and Linde is hanging on with 55,000.

Meanwhile, Gary Berbiglia got it all in versus Ivan Demidov. Berbiglia had pocket deuces and Demidov {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The board came {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, and they chopped as well. Berbiglia hangs on with just 55,000, while Demidov is in good shape with 830,000.

Andres Alvarez Eliminated

On a flop of {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}, Andreas Alvarez shoves for 35,000 and Cedric Kolstad calls, saying "I need a little help."

Alvarez: {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Kolstad: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

He gets the help with the turn and river of {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Alvarez is out. Kolstad now has 228,000.

No Fun For Table #6

As if it wasn't bad enough that chip leader Jeremy Joseph was seated at Table #6 in the green section, two empty seats there were just filled by Alexander Kostritsyn (and his 900,000 stack) and Johnny (expletive deleted) Chan. The ESPN camera crews have been camped out at that table ever since Chan unracked his chips in seat 3.
