Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth raised preflop to 18,000, and Keith Ferrera called behind him. The flop came . Hellmuth bet 20,000, and Ferrara called. The turn was the , and both checked. Both also checked the on the river.
"Ace high," said Hellmuth. Ferrera turned over A-Q, and Hellmuth mucked in disgust. Apparently Ferrera's queen played.
"I just got called for 20,000 with ace high on the flop," said Hellmuth. "I'm gonna get some bucks from that guy for sure." Hellmuth has 415,000 currently, while Ferrara has 1.2 million.
Big hand just before the break. Jesse McEven raised to 19,000 before the flop, and both Stefan Mattsson (button) and Craig Marquis (small blind) called.
The flop came a gawdy . Marquis checked, McEven bet 23,000, Mattsson called, and Marquis called as well. Something was afoot.
The turn was the , and all checked. Hmm....
The river brought the . Marquis bet 100,000, McEven folded, Mattsson quickly reraised, and Marquis pushed all in. Mattsson called, showing . But Marquis had for the better boat.
Marquis jumped up to 750,000, while Mattsson slipped all of the way down to 40,000.
Had an interesting blind-vs.-blind confrontation between Matt Matros and David Saab take place at the end of the previous level. Some preflop jousting meant there was already 130,000 in the pot when the flop came . Matros bet 85,000, and Saab called. The turn was the , and this time Matros bet 175,000. Saab again called.
The river was the . Both players checked. "Ace-king?" asked Matros before turning over his hand -- . Saab, apparently thinking Matros was declaring his hand rather than asking about Saab's, was slow to turn over his cards. Finally he saw Matros' treys and turned over his .
There was a bit of discussion afterwards, as it might've appeared Saab had slowrolled. Saab explained he didn't even realize he had the pair, as he was focused on the flush draw. In any event, Saab took the hand and now has nearly 1.8 million. Matros has 830,000.
Karen Manfrede
Gus Hansen opened for a raise to 24,000 from early position. Action folded around to Karen Manfrede in the small blind and she moved all in for 124,000 total. The big blind passed but Hansen made the call. The players showed:

The board ran out and Manfrede took it down. She sits with about 265,000 chips after the hand.
