James Washer Eliminated

We caught up to this hand on the flop. With plenty of chips in the middle and the board reading {9-Spades} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades}, Owen Crowe and Jason Washer were all in with Washer at risk. The players showed:

Crowe: {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts}
Washer: {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}

Washer was drawing extremely slim and never improved. He was eliminated and Crowe took down the pot. He is now a force with about 1,290,000.

Schoenfeld Eliminated by "The Good-Looking Guy"

Adam Schoenfeld just received a brutal knockout blow. Preflop, Sigurd Eskeland opened the pot for 19,000 and was called by Lawrence Jacobs in the small blind. Sitting in the big blind, Schoenfeld reraised to 50,000. Eskeland wasted no time in pushing all in for 267,000. That was enough to fold Jacobs, but it put Schoenfeld into the tank. Eskeland's raise was enough to put Schoenfeld all in. He finally made the call. An ESPN camera crew came running to the table as the dealer announced the all-in.

One member of the crew asked the dealer which players were involved. "The good-looking guy and me," answered Schoenfeld. With that established, each player opened his hand.

Eskeland: {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}
Schoenfeld: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

Upon seeing the hands, Schoenfeld jokingly asked a floor, "If I vomit, will that incur a penalty?"

The dealer burned and turned a flop of {8-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}. No help for Eskeland. The turn {9-Spades} made a straight for Schoenfeld, taking away Eskeland's overcard outs, but giving him a gutshot draw.

Schoenfeld started chanting, "No set, no set, no set," but made his set when the dealer delivered the {10-Hearts} on the river. That card made Eskeland a higher straight to eliminate Schoenfeld.

"Are you kidding me?" asked a stunned Schoenfeld. "Unbelievable."

Johnny Chan came over to the table and looked at the board. "Split?" he asked. Then he noticed the hands and offered Schoenfeld his sympathy.

Jim Dalessandro Is Eliminated

Sitting in the big blind and with Evan Jarvis having raised 25,000 from the button (enough to set him all in), Jim Dalessandro chose to call with the most powerful hand in poker--{7-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}. He had two live cards against Jarvis' {9-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} but Dalessandro wasn't able to hammer out a win as the board came {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} {6-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} and Jim was eliminated.

Kory Mitchell Eliminated

Kory Mitchell was eliminated after moving all in preflop and was called by Tyron Krost. Krost showed pocket jacks and Mitchell was behind with pocket nines. The jacks held for Krost and Mitchell was sent to the rail.

The Same in Any Language

With the action folded to Mike Blocksidge in the small blind, he moved all in with {Q-Hearts} {4-Spades} on a steal and Comuelo Navamo snap-called in the big blind with {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}.

The flop was {6-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {3-Spades}, but the {Q-Diamonds} fell on the turn, making Blocksidge two pair. The river was the {J-Hearts} and Navamo began muttering a trail of expletives in Spanish.

"Sorry," was all Blocksidge could offer as he dragged the pot.

Whitney Blanton Eliminated

A few hands after doubling up against Adam Zinn, Whitney Blanton again moved all in and was called by Sarkis Akopyan. Blanton held {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} to Akapyan's {A-Spades} {J-Spades} and took the lead from Sarkis when the flop came {10-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}. But the turn brought the {Q-Spades}, giving Akopyan the straight and leaving Whitney needing a king or queen for the full house. But the {4-Hearts} fell on the river and Blanton's Main Event came to an end.

Paul Leckey Eliminated

Paul Leckey's main event dreams were dashed when he took a stand with {3-Clubs} {3-Spades} and lost a race against the {A-Hearts} {8-Hearts} of Alan Gould.

The board ran out {8-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {2-Spades} {4-Hearts} leaving Leckey's hand second best. Gould is sitting on just shy of 600,000 after the hand.
