Garrett Beckman Doubles Through Dennis Phillips

Garrett Beckman
Garrett Beckman
Garrett Beckman open-raised all in for 870,000 from middle position. Dennis Phillips called from the button and the blinds passed. With action complete, the players showed:

Beckman: {K-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}
Phillips: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}

Beckman caught a piece of the {J-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} flop, but not enough to take the lead. The {J-Hearts} on the turn however put him ahead. Phillips needed a queen to win the hand and eliminate Beckman, but the river was the {K-Clubs} giving Beckman an even bigger full house.

Beckman doubled to just short of two million while the hit to Phillips' stack left him with just shy of nine million in chips.

Marquis Bests Cantu in Biggest Pot of Tournament

Craig Marquis
Craig Marquis
Aaron Gordon raised to 200,000 from early position and Brandon Cantu called from middle position. Craig Marquis, next to act, raised to 700,000 total. Gordon passed but Cantu made the call.

The flop came {J-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {5-Spades} and both players checked. When the {A-Diamonds} hit the turn, Cantu checked. Marquis bet 200,000 and Cantu made it one million straight. Marquis called and they saw a river.

The {10-Clubs} hit the river and Cantu pushed all in. Marquis snap-called and Cantu instantly mucked his hand. Marquis, while not required, showed {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades}.

Craig Marquis took down the pot of just over 12 million in chips. Cantu was left not only shaking his head, but with just under four million in chips.

Nguyen Doubles With Queens

Phi Nguyen
Phi Nguyen
Cristian Dragomir opened with a raise to 180,000 from early position and the action folded around to Phi Nugyen in the small blind who moved all in. Joe Bishop folded his big blind and Dragomir deliberated the 470,000-chip decision, before making the call to give us our third all-in confrontation in three consecutive hands on the feature table!

Dragomir: {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Nguyen: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{5-Spades} and Nguyen doubles up to about 1.4 million chips!

Nikolay Losev Picks Up a Pot

Nikolay Losev raised to 175,000 from UTG and Toni Cristian called from the button. The flop was {9-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts}. Losev checked, Cristian bet 225,000 and Losev called. When the turn came the {8-Hearts} Losev check-raised Cristian's 400,000 bet all in and Judet gave it up.

Losev is now up to 2,750,000 while Cristian sits at 5,610,000.

Point/Counterpoint

Darus Suharto raised to 160,000 and Chris Klodnicki reraised to 600,000. Suharto then bumped it a wee bit, to 2.1 million.

That's when Klodnicki open-folded {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}. Suharto showed his pocket kings and said, "You owe me two now," referring to an earlier time when he showed his hand after Klodnicki folded.

As Suharto scooped the pot, there was a bit of confusion as a single 25,000 chip was sitting in-between Suharto and Dean Hamrick. They weren't sure who it belonged to, so Suharto and Hamrick agreed to Roshambo for it, until floorman Steve Frezer came over and said, "Ah, no, you're not doing that." They went to check the security cameras to find where the chip's true home is.

David Rheem Flexes Some Muscle

David "Chino" Rheem

Mike Matusow opened for a raise to 180,000. Brandon Cantu asked for a count on Matusow's chips and he replied, "About 2.7 (million)." Cantu reraised to 600,000 and David "Chino" Rheem moved all in. Matusow folded and Cantu flashed the {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} as he folded too.

Matusow said he folded {A-?} {K-?} as Rheem stacked the pot.

Using the Club

After a flop of {8-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {4-Spades} Nikolay Losev and Kelly Kim checked and Peter Eastgate bet 400,000. Losev then check-raised to 1.1 million and Kim got out of the way. Eastgate did not get in the way--he moved all in for over 7 million. Losev folded his hand, and is back down to 1.7 million. Eastgate is up to 8.9 million.

Scott Montgomery Takes One Off Owen Crowe

Owen Crowe and Scott Montgomery limped in and saw a flop of {10-Spades} {7-Spades} {6-Clubs}. Crowe checked, Montgomery bet 125,000 from the button, Crowe raised to 300,000 and Montgomery called. The turn was the {K-Clubs}. Crowe bet 500,000 and Montgomery called. The river was the {6-Hearts} and both players checked.

Crowe turned up {Q-Clubs} {10-Hearts} for tens and sixes, but Montgomery held a bigger two pair with {10-Clubs} {7-Clubs} and raked in the pot.
