Could You Hold it Down, Please?

The bustling energy and noise of the Amazon Room is conspicuous in its absence today, even more so than on the Day 1s. As the players filed into the room this morning, spirits and voices were high as the players mulled around the room, finding their seats and those of their friends. Last-minute phone calls, a quick bite to eat, crack open that energy drink.

Once the cards went in the air, though, the intensity went up a few notches, while the decibel level dropped proportionately. In wandering around the room, generally the only conversation we hear from the tables involves the hand in progress or the one that just finished. Gone are the laughing and joking about life outside the Amazon Room. These guys are here to play cards and make money today.
