Dennis Phillips Wins a Monster Pot

Back in the Chip Lead
Back in the Chip Lead
Scott Montgomery raised to 420,000, Peter Eastgate called from the cutoff, Chris Klodnicki called on the button, and Dennis Phillips raised to 1.3 million from the big blind. Montgomery gave it up, Eastgate called, and Klodnicki folded. The flop was {8-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {2-Clubs}. Phillips bet 1.3 million, and Eastgate called. The turn was the {10-Hearts}. Phillips immediately moved all in, sending Eastgate into the tank.

Eastgate thought for so long that the other four players got up from their seats and visited with their supporters in the stands while Eastgate pondered. Phillips eventually called a clock on his opponent.

Eastgate ultimately gave it up and Phillips won the pot. He's now up to 18.6 million, while Eastgate slipped to 12.8 million.
