Day 1 Completed

The first day of Event #14, $2,500 Six-handed Limit Hold'em, has come to a close. Day one saw 367 players pony up the cash for some fast-paced limit action and only 98 remain at the end of eight levels.

For most of the latter half of the day, Matt Glantz has worked his limit magic and kept himself towards the top of the leaderboard. Frank Kline and Jordan Cairns are also at the top of the board with big chip stacks. Daniel Negreanu, JC Tran, Barry Greenstein, and Jimmy Tran are some of the big names that were able to push through to the second day as well. And move over Patrik Antonius, because Maya Geller is cruising along and looking to be the first of the two to capture a gold WSOP bracelet.

Players will return tomorrow at 2:00 PM local time for the second day of play. We'll trek to the final table or stop at 3:00 AM, whichever comes first. Be sure to return right here tomorrow for some more short-handed limit hold'em!

Gee Willikers I'm Out

JC Tran raised from the button and then David Gee reraised all in. The big blind called and Tran called as well. The big blind and Tran checked the action down until the river on a board of {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}. The big blind fired a bet on the river and Tran called.

"I just have a jack." said the big blind. Tran nodded his head to signal that it was good.

David Gee held {6-Spades} {6-Diamonds} and lost the hand as well, he was eliminated from the tournament.

Ronnie "RoNasty" Bardah and Jon "PearlJammed" Turner were also eliminated recently as we move down to 108 players left.

Newhouse Tries a Steal

In blind versus blind action, Mark Newhouse checked behind on the flop and turn on a board of {Q-Hearts} {4-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. After the river, the small blind fired a bet and Newhouse stuck in a raise. His opponent called with {J-Diamonds} {7-Spades} and Newhouse mucked.

With that loss, Newhouse dropped to 25,000 chips.
