Tens Working for Tony G

Isaac Haxton raised to 75,000 from under the gun, and it folded to Tony G who pushed all in for 391,000 from the small blind. Haxton called.

It was tens for Tony G yet again -- {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Haxton turned over {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The flop of {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} gave Tony G a set, but Haxton had the diamond draw. The turn was the {4-Hearts} and the river the {Q-Hearts}, and Tony G doubled back to 860,000. Haxton now has 605,000.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds}, the river was the {K-Hearts} and Glantz hit the rail in 18th place while Veldhuis' stack soared to 3,000,000.

"I missed the Main Event?!"

As we approach the first break of the day, the floor staff started handing out blue bracelets to our final 18 players as their break will end up coinciding with the break in the sold-out $1,000 "Stimulus Special."

"You may need this because you're on break with the Main Event" explained the floor supervisor to one player.

"I missed the Main Event?!" exclaimed Tony G with a laugh.

Bonomo Bounces Back, Nears Four Million

Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo raised to 75,000 from middle position, and it folded back around to Greg Raymer who called from the small blind.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Raymer checked, Bonomo bet 200,000, and Raymer called. The turn was the {K-Clubs}. Raymer again checked. Bonomo collected some chips, and spread out a bet of 400,000. Raymer called.

The river was the {J-Diamonds}. Raymer checked again. This time Bonomo fired out a bet of 1 million.

"I don't know if I'm running that bad or you're running that good," said Raymer, who folded. Raymer is now at 2.1 million, while Bonomo is up to 3.9 million.

RaSZi Zeroing in on ZeeJustin

Lex "RaSZi" Veldhuis raised to 82,000 from the cutoff, and chip leader Justin "ZeeJustin" Bonomo called from the small blind. The pair ended up checking down on all three streets as the community cards came {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Veldhuis turned over {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for jacks, and Bonomo mucked.

Veldhuis has inched into second place with 2.7 million, while Bonomo is still out in front with 3.6 million.

Dani Stern opened for 75,000 from middle position and was met with a reraise to 175,000 from Vitaly Lunkin. Stern four-bet to 500,000, setting Lunkin all in. He made the call.

Lunkin {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
Stern {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}, Lunkin's kings holding up to earn him the 1.18 million pot. Stern's stack slipped to 950,000.

The river brought the {A-Spades}. Forrest again checked, and this time Stern bet 350,000. Forrest studied for a moment, then let it go.

He Who Hesitates

Lex Veldhuis raised to 80,000 from middle position, and it folded back around to Doshi Suresh who called from the small blind. Greg Raymer folded from the big blind, and the flop came {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Suresh checked, Veldhuis bet 105,000, and Suresh called.

Both players checked the {K-Diamonds} on the turn. The river then brought the {5-Spades}. Suresh checked, Veldhuis bet 315,000, and Suresh made the call. Suresh turned over pocket jacks, but Veldhuis had {6-Clubs}{9-Hearts} -- after getting to the river for free, he'd made that straight.

Veldhuis now has about 2 million, while Suresh is down to 430,000.
