Hawrilenko Spikes Set

Hold'em

Matt Hawrilenko has just taken down a nice pot after check-calling the whole way until the river where his opponent checked behind.

The board read {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Spades} and Hawrilenko was left ruing a missed bet on the river but he scooped the pot, showing {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. He's up to 285,000.

Frangos Gone

Nick Frangos Eliminated
Nick Frangos Eliminated
Omaha-8

Nick Frangos was short stacked and all in preflop against James Van Alstyne.

Frangos: {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Van Alstyne: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{K-Clubs}

Frangos held the lead and looked a chance to double up when the first four community cards were spread {4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. However the {7-Hearts} on the river was a horrible card for Frangos as Van Alstyne made a pair of sevens to go with the nut low.

Frangos is eliminated in 30th place as Van Alstyne increases his stack to 150,000 chips.

Golser Doubles

Stud

Picking up the action on fifth street, Markus Golser bet and Chris Amaral folded showing {Q-Spades} {5-Hearts} {9-Clubs}. Matt Hawrilenko made the call. On sixth, Golser bet all in and Hawrilenko called again.

Hawrilneko: ({7-Hearts} {3-Hearts}) {9-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} (X)
Golser: ({5-Diamonds} {4-Spades}) {4-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {2-Clubs} (X)

Hawrilenko pulled a {3-Diamonds} and couldn't beat Golser, who pulled a {9-Diamonds}. Golser was able to double up to back over 40,000 chips.

Limongi Leads

Stud

Michele Limongi had taken down a nice Stud pot against two opponents. Limongi led the betting, with one opponent folding on the river with the other, Asher Derei making a crying call.

Limongi tabled {3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} ({3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}) for trip threes as Derei sighed and flashed two pair, aces over twos, before mucking.

Limongi is now up to a chip-leading 325,000!

Amaral Makin' a Comeback Y'all

Chris Amaral was down to under 10,000 chips but has stormed back over the past hour or so. He came over to the media desk to shake the reporters and try and conjure up some lucky vibes. After that, he did some karate moves in the vacant tournament area to get his mind right. Did it work? It must have, because Amaral now has 120,000 chips.

Schaaf Spikes Two-Outer

Stud

James Schaaf was all in by fourth street in a Stud hand against Frank Debus.

Debus' final board read ({K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}){2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} ({5-Diamonds}) as Schaaf could only show ({3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}) {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} before both players sweated the river.

Schaaf only had two outs to improve and wouldn't you know it, he found the {9-Diamonds} as Debus gave off a screech of disgust at the suckout as Schaaf stays alive! He's back to 35,000 chips.

Play Resumes

While Gus Hansen doing pushups in the corner of the Brasilia Room during the break was thoroughly entertaining, the players are now back once again to entertain us on the felt. 34 players remain in the hunt for WSOP glory!
