Two Pair Does It Again for Ivey

Ming Lee was the aggressor, leading the betting until sixth street where Phil Ivey took over. At showdown it was the battle of two pairs once again, and again Ivey came out victorious.

Ivey Gets One Back

Every pot that gets to showdown at this point is a big one. Carlos Mortensen and Phil Ivey have essentially swapped positions after Ivey scooped with queens up to return to the chip lead over Mortensen's jacks up. The boards were:

Mortensen's Turn to Clip Ivey

Another hand has gone against Phil Ivey. He raised preflop before Carlos Mortensen reraised. Ivey called, and then called a bet on the {10-Spades}

flop.

The turn brought the {Q-Clubs}

and again Ivey checked and called a bet from Mortensen. The river landed the {K-Spades}

and both players checked it down.

Mortensen tabled {Q-Hearts}

and again Ivey has been dented by an opponent's straight, as Mortensen is now our chip leader. He has nearly 1.1 million with Ivey back to 855,000.

Lee Straightens Ivey

Phil Ivey completed and Ming Lee made the call. Ivey then check-called on fourth and fifth streets, before leading sixth. Lee raised and Ivey called. Ivey then led out with a bet again on the river with Lee making the call.

Lee was the only one to show as his ( {J-Hearts}

took the pot with a straight as Ivey mucked with a board of {K-Clubs}

Ivey slips to under one million with Lee up to 855,000.

Phil Ivey raised from the button before Carlos Mortensen reraised in the big blind. Ivey called and they saw a flop of {7-Clubs}

. Mortensen fired out a bet, which Ivey called.

The turn was the {5-Hearts}

and again Mortensen fired at the pot with Ivey making the call. The river landed the {8-Hearts}

and Mortensen fired a third barrel with Ivey calling him down.

Mortensen showed {A-Hearts}

for a straight and seven-low as Ivey sat there motionless for several seconds, perhaps stunned that he'd actually lost a pot, before mucking.

Ivey Takes Down Another Big Pot

Carlos Mortensen completed and Phil Ivey made the call. On fourth Mortensen fired, with Ivey taking the lead on fifth and sixth, before Mortensen put in a raise. Ivey deliberated for some time before calling and checking the river in the dark. Mortensen checked behind and the cards were revealed:

Mortensen cringed when he saw Ivey's cards as he couldn't better two pair and mucked. Ivey is now up to 1.61 million with Mortensen down to 560,000.

Dutch Boyd Eliminated in 4th Place ($61,919)

Dutch Boyd was all in for his last chips on third street with Carlos Mortensen happy to take a shot at knocking him out. Boyd was in the lead, but the boards would run out:
