Negreanu And Ivey Chop Up Corpuz

Negreanu gets his short stack in against Ivey and Martin Corpuz who has them both covered.

Negreanu: {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {6-Spades} {5-Diamonds}
Ivey: {A-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}
Corpuz: {A-Spades} {3-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}

The board comes {K-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {8-Spades} and Ivey is the big winner here. Negreanu takes the high of the main pot, Ivey takes the low. And it the large sidepot between Ivey and Corpuz, Ivey scooped.

Phil Ivey, six hands (or something like that). 100,000 chips.

Corpuz has about 42,000 and Negreanu is up to about 27,000.

New Chip Leader

Professional poker player and rapper, Brett Richey, has taken over the chip lead with a over 220,000 chips in his stack. Richey's rap group is called Dream/Clone and we'll let you be the judge on whether or not he's a better poker player or rapper.

Racener Steals Solomon's Wisdom

On the turn of a {8-Spades} {5-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} the chips all go in between John Racener and Michael Solomon. Racener shows {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {6-Clubs} for a straight and an A-4 low and Solomon can only show {7-?} {7-?} X X. The river is the {3-Hearts} and Racener scoops and eliminates Solomon.

Ivey Back In Town

Phil Ivey has just jumped back into the PLO8 tournament on Daniel Negreanu's table. He only has about 30,000 left though but expect it to go in soon.

Tam's Queens Are Good

On a flop of {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} {10-Hearts}, Kenny Tam fired a bet of 5,000 and Daniel Negreanu called. The turn brought the {4-Spades} and Tam checked. Negreanu fired 9,000 into the middle and Tam called. The river was the {6-Spades} and both players checked.

Negreanu mucked his hand after Tam showed {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {8-Spades} for a set of queens.
