Boatman Comes Out Firing

After Ross Boatman raised to 60,000 from the button, Chad Layne took quite some time before finally calling from the big blind.

Layne checked the flop of {J-Spades}{A-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Boatman quickly bet pot, putting 130,000 more in the middle. When Layne folded, Boatman took the chips.

Between Brothers

Barny Boatman just made his way to the rail to check on his brother Ross. Satisfied with what he saw and heard after a short conversation, Barny gave his brother a pat on the back and moved on as Ross returned to the table.

Leandri Wakes Up

In the first hand he's played all day, Jean-Phillipe Leandri raised the pot from the big blind after Rami Boukai had made it 60,000 to go from early position.

Boukai quickly tossed his hand in the muck and we moved on.

Jeff Kimber Doubles Through Ross Boatman

In a bit of Brit-on-Brit violence, Jeff Kimber opened for 50,000 from UTG+1 and Ross Boatman called on the button.

The flop came down {J-Hearts} {10-Spades} {5-Hearts}. Kimber led out for a pot-sized bet of 130,000, nearly setting himself all-in. Boatman tanked for a bit before raising him all-in and Kimber made the call.

Kimber {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {2-Clubs}
Boatman {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds}

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, the river was the {A-Hearts}, and Kimber doubled up to about 430,000, recovering most of those chips he lost to Dallas Flowers a short time ago.

Theo Jorgensen Eliminated in 8th Place ($26,955)

Theo Jorgensen

J.C. Tran raised to 55,000 from under-the-gun and Theo Jorgensen raised the pot, putting in 140,000 more. Action folded back to Tran who made the call.

On a flop of {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Tran bet out about half the pot and Jorgensen called all in.

Tran: {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Jorgensen: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Tran had a flush draw to Jorgensen's over-pair and picked up more outs when the {4-Diamonds} landed on the turn. The {6-Spades} brought gin as Tran filled in a straight, sending Jorgensen home in 8th place with nearly $27,000.

Dallas Flowers Doubles Through Jeff Kimber

Jeff Kimber opened for a pot-sized raise from the button, Dallas Flowers reraised an additional 100,000 from the big blind and Kimber called.

The flop was {K-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} and Flowers moved all in for 87,000. Kimber made the call.

Flowers {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} {10-Spades} {5-Clubs}
Kimber {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {5-Hearts}

Flowers was in the lead with trip kings, but had to fade Kimber's flush draw. He didn't get there, the turn pairing the board with the {6-Clubs} to seal up the hand for Flowers with kings full of sixes. The irrelevant river card was the {8-Diamonds} and Flowers earned the double-up.

Tran Makes Aces Up

J.C. Tran

Ross Boatman raised to 55,000 from early postion, got called by J.C. Tran, and they went heads up to a flop of {J-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

Both players checked and checked again when the turn brought the {4-Hearts}. Boatman bet 100,000 at the {A-Spades} on the river, and Tran called.

Boatman showed {K-?} {K-?} {10-?} {8-?} while Tran showed {A-?} {Q-?} {7-?} {5-?} , which was good enough for the win.

Chad Layne Doubles Through Theo Jorgensen

J.C. Tran made it 56,000 to go from the button, Theo Jorgensen re-potted from the small blind, Chad Layne moved all in for 188,000 from the big blind, Tran folded and Jorgensen called.

Layne {A-Spades} {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} {9-Clubs}
Jorgensen {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {9-Spades}

The flop was huge for both players. coming down {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} {6-Spades}-- Layne making the nut flush and Jorgensen hitting a set of queens. Jorgensen couldn't get the board to pair on the {2-Diamonds} turn, or the {10-Clubs} on the river, and Layne earned the double-up to nearly 400,000.
