I Don't Need Any More, Man

Online star Chris Moorman is one of the few 'name' faces so far spotted in the Brasilia room, the young pro has yet to have a big live score. Recently he's been getting a fair amount of stick from friends after his dad (Moorman2) won a large UK event for about £80,000. The saying being, "You might be top three in the world at tournaments, but you're only top two in your family."

Here, he's quite happy to be playing this tournament, the shallowness of the stack will apparently play to his strengths, he claimed.

One Antonius Present

Maya Antonius
Maya Antonius
Spotted in the Miranda room is Maya Antonius, better half of Patrik. When asked where the latter was, Maya replied that Patrik has not been playing because his back is hurt and that he's waiting for the cash games at the Bellagio.

Does that make a difference anyone's WSOP Fantasy League Team?

It's Getting Hot in Here

Nelly
Nelly
Rap star Nelly is amongst the players today. He's wearing a Phil Laak style gray hoodie pulled over his head, seemingly trying to stay under the radar. The diamond encrusted watch poking out from under his sleeve gave the game away though!

He just managed to take down a pot after raising a limper and then firing on the flop to make his opponent fold.

Prop Bets, Russian Style

Ivan Deimidov
Ivan Deimidov
Last year's Main Event runner-up Ivan Demidov was overheard briefly explaining his choice of hair style for today.

"I lost a prop bet" was all that was needed to explain it.

Exits Aplenty

Already we've broken a couple of tables and they're bringing the 1-table sattellites back into the Brasilia room. The queue for these is already stretching way out of the room, presumably full of people just having busted...

Others Spotted Today

A few people spotted playing today in the Brasilia and Miranda rooms:

David Singer
Dustin Woolf
Steve Wong
Bluff Magazine Editor Matt Parvis
Vanessa Rousso
Soren Kongsgaard
EPT Monte Carlo Runner-Up Matt Woodward

Bonjour

French-speaking poker stars, Ludovic Lacay and Davidi Kitai, are both trying their luck today. Lacay's at about his starting stack but Kitai is a little short.

The latter just started moving back in the right direction. There was a raise to 175 from mid position that the button and Kitai in the big blind called.

The flop came {9-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {3-Clubs} before the aggressor continued with a 275 bet. The button folded before Kitai moved all in for 1,075. After a dwell the aggressor folded saying "Nice hand".

Kitai nodded and raked in the pot.

Se-Bokked!

Before the flip
Before the flip
Joe Sebok is one of the early casualties of today, the classic 57-43 coinflip not falling his way when his {A-?} {K-?} couldn't beat {Q-?} {Q-?} after the board came {J-?} {10-?} {4-?} {J-?} {Q-?}.

Chocolate and Drinks

Greg Mueller
Greg Mueller
Greg 'FBT' Mueller just bought a lot of chocolate off one of the valets and offered it all out to the players on his table.

Meanwhile UK online player James Sudworth went one better, buying a whole round of jagerbombs for his tablemates. He then came up to explain a nasty hand.

"Had {A-?} {K-?} on an {A-?} {K-?} {3-?} flop, ran into {K-?} {K-?}. I've still got 2,700 though."

"Whereabouts are you sitting?" I asked.

James turned around and looked at the eighty or so tables behind him, "Erm, I can't remember..." before wandering off to look for his stack.

Nelly Bluffed

There were two limpers before a player in the small blind raised it up to 300. Nelly called from the big blind but the two limpers folded.

The flop came {3-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {5-Spades} before Nelly faced a 600 bet. He in turn raised it up to 1,200 before his opponent pushed for 3,225 total.

Nelly thought for a good while pounding his chips on the table and then folded {9-?} {9-?} face-up. His opponent then flipped over {A-?} {7-?}!!

All Nelly could say about that was "Wow".
