Online star Chris Moorman is one of the few 'name' faces so far spotted in the Brasilia room, the young pro has yet to have a big live score. Recently he's been getting a fair amount of stick from friends after his dad (Moorman2) won a large UK event for about £80,000. The saying being, "You might be top three in the world at tournaments, but you're only top two in your family."
Here, he's quite happy to be playing this tournament, the shallowness of the stack will apparently play to his strengths, he claimed.
Spotted in the Miranda room is Maya Antonius, better half of Patrik. When asked where the latter was, Maya replied that Patrik has not been playing because his back is hurt and that he's waiting for the cash games at the Bellagio.
Does that make a difference anyone's WSOP Fantasy League Team?
Rap star Nelly is amongst the players today. He's wearing a Phil Laak style gray hoodie pulled over his head, seemingly trying to stay under the radar. The diamond encrusted watch poking out from under his sleeve gave the game away though!
He just managed to take down a pot after raising a limper and then firing on the flop to make his opponent fold.
Already we've broken a couple of tables and they're bringing the 1-table sattellites back into the Brasilia room. The queue for these is already stretching way out of the room, presumably full of people just having busted...
French-speaking poker stars, Ludovic Lacay and Davidi Kitai, are both trying their luck today. Lacay's at about his starting stack but Kitai is a little short.
The latter just started moving back in the right direction. There was a raise to 175 from mid position that the button and Kitai in the big blind called.
The flop came before the aggressor continued with a 275 bet. The button folded before Kitai moved all in for 1,075. After a dwell the aggressor folded saying "Nice hand".
Greg 'FBT' Mueller just bought a lot of chocolate off one of the valets and offered it all out to the players on his table.
Meanwhile UK online player James Sudworth went one better, buying a whole round of jagerbombs for his tablemates. He then came up to explain a nasty hand.
"Had on an flop, ran into . I've still got 2,700 though."
"Whereabouts are you sitting?" I asked.
James turned around and looked at the eighty or so tables behind him, "Erm, I can't remember..." before wandering off to look for his stack.
