It's Dinner Break in the Limit Event

It's the dinner break in the $2,000 Limit Hold'em Event. How can we tell? Well, the multi-tabling fun of Daniel Negreanu has just started as he's passed up a quiet meal to run over and join today's PLO event. He has one hour to run amok and build his stack up before he has to head back.

Gallic Wars

David Benyamine called a 4,500 bet from Bruno Fitoussi on a {J-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {2-Spades} board, before Fitoussi shoved the river {8-Spades}. Benyamine let out a deep sigh before folding the river and Fitoussi showed {6-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}.

Top Set No Good for Graham

In a limped pot on a flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, the action was with Daniel "amichaiKK" Makowsky who checked to Matt Graham. Graham fired out 425. John Duthie then announced a raise to 1,550, which Makowsky called.

The action was then back with Graham, who put in another raise, making it 5,050 to go. Duthie got out of the way and Makowsky decided to move all in. Graham called and the cards were tabled.

Graham: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Makowsky: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

Makowsky tabled queens with a straight draw, but Graham was in front with his top set of tens. The turn bricked the {2-Hearts} but the river was the {8-Clubs} to give Makowsky the straight and the pot.

Makowsky is up to 18,000 with Graham at 13,000. However, both players still have their two red rebuy chips safely in hand.

Binger Bluff

Adam Junglen makes it 200 to play and another player calls before Michael Mizrachi reraises to 900 from the small blind. Michael Binger calls, as does Junglen and the fourth player.

The flop comes {7-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} and Mizrachi checks, Binger bets 1,800 and it's folded back to Mizrachi who takes about a minute before folding. Binger shows {A-Clubs} {K-?} {5-?} {3-Clubs} for nothing at all.

Will Antonius Make An Appearance?

One of the big talking points of this event was the anticipated 2009 WSOP debut for one Patrik Antonius. In a recent interview with Gloria Balding for PokerNews Video, Antonius indicated that he'd struggled recently with illness and motivation, but had every intention of playing this event today.

He is yet to be spotted here today, but as we know, the cool kids don't arrive for class on time. So will Antonius make an appearance?

Just to Name a Few More...

The list of big names in today's field continues to grow. How's this for talent...Erick Lindgren, Eli Elezra, Layne Flack, JC Tran, Max Pescatori, Scott Clements, David Williams, Barry Greenstein, Daniel Alaei, Jason Mercier, Jimmy Fricke, Lee Watkinson, Shaun Deeb, Ville Wahlbeck and Vanessa Selbst...just to name a few.

Some Interesting Tables

A couple of Australians in the field are WSOP bracelet-holder Gary Benson and PLO online phenom Harris Pavlou. Interestingly, they are starting off at the very same table and are joined by David "DevilFish" Ulliott. Another pair of Aussies also find themselves together with Julian Powell and Roy Bhasin starting on the same table.

Another interesting table which is currently playing four-handed, includes Hassan Habib, Kirill Gerasimov, Vitaly Lunkin and Ilari Sahamies. We're sure to see some fireworks there! To make matters worse, the table is has just become five-handed with the addition of Brandon Adams.

On the other side of the Brasilia Room, the table that caught our eye was the one featuring Robert Mizrachi, Scotty Nguyen, Isaac Haxton and Mike Matusow.
