DeLatorre Gets Clocked

We caught this hand as the floor was counting down the last 10 seconds of the clock while standing behind Ted Garner in the 1 seat.

When the floor finally called the hand dead, the dealer pushed the pot to Garner and Dan DeLatorre looked up confused, expecting that the chips should be going his way. He was even more surprised to find that the clock had been called on him, as he was first to act in the hand.

Runner, Runner Flush for Schwartz

After Steven Schwartz put in a raise, John Bennett moved all in for about 300,000 total. Schwartz took a moment and then made the call.

Showdown
Schwartz: {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
Bennett: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

The flop came down {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}, landing top pair for Schwartz, but also giving Bennett a set. The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and did give Schwartz some outs to a flush. The river nailed that flush with the {4-Diamonds} and doubled Schwartz up to about 375,000. Bennett dropped to 150,000.

Davis Doubles Through Thomas

Michael Davis moved all in for 150,000 from early position and got called by Tom Thomas out of the small blind.

Davis: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Thomas: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

A board of {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts} gave both players a full house, but Davis' was better and he increased his stack to nearly 300,000.

Morusty's Climb Back

We're not sure if it was reported yesterday, but at one point Michael Morusty was down to 1,000 chips early in the day. He didn't give up and battled back before a key hand came up. Morusty got all in preflop against two other players. Morsuty held pocket queens with both of his opponents holding pocket aces.

Morusty was able to flop a queen and pull in the lead. He did need to sweat it out though, as the flop was all hearts. The player with the ace of hearts pleaded for a fourth heart, but it never came.

Morusty is now sitting with over 260,000 chips and looking to go deeper in the event.

Clyde Reed Eliminated in 27th Place ($12,784)

Clyde Reed pushed all of his chips into the middle preflop against Alan Hance. Hance held {K-?} {J-?} while the shorter-stacked Reed held pocket aces and was poised for a double-up. It wouldn't be in the cards for Reed though when two jacks appeared on the board. One jack flopped and the appeared on the river to eliminate Reed in 27th place.

Chuck McCormick Eliminated in 28th Place ($10,149)

Chuck McCormick was all in preflop against both Mitch Garshofsky and Charles Simon. The flop came down {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} and both remaining players checked. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and again, both remaining players checked.

The river was the {5-Hearts} and prompted a bet of 100,000 from Garshofsky. Simon folded and Garshofsky showed {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. McCormick held {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} and was eliminated in 28th place.

The final 27 players will now redraw to three tables.

The Final Day Upon Us

Chip leader, Tom Thomas
Chip leader, Tom Thomas
Last night saw play round out with 28 players left in the field for this year's Seniors World Championship. Tom Thomas will be the chip leader, with nearly a third more than his closest competitor. He holds 917,000 chips.

The staff accommodated the players last night by letting them leave a little earlier than 3:00 AM. That should help the players get some extra rest and be ready to finish out the long grind today. Whether it be skill or luck, one player will come out on top at the end of the day and claim the gold bracelet. Along with the bracelet will come over $430,000 in prize money!

Stay tuned for live coverage from PokerNews as we kick things off at 1:00 PM local time.
