Schwartz Finds A Pair That Fits

Humphrey's turn for a bad beat.
Humphrey's turn for a bad beat.
Zachary Humphrey raises UTG to 12,000. Ylon Schwartz makes it 18,000 and John McGuiness makes the call in the big blind. Humphrey raises to 24,000 and Schwartz caps it to 30,000. McGuiness folds and Humphrey calls.

The flop of {2-Hearts} {5-Spades} {7-Hearts} is capped between the pair with five more bets going in, before they see the {Q-Spades} turn. Humphrey bets again, Schwartz raises to 24,000 and Humphrey sets him in for his last 3,000. Schwartz calls with {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} against Humphrey's {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} which misses the {10-Hearts} river.

After losing with kings and aces, Schwartz finds a hand that wins...

Schwartz Runs Bad

"Sigh."
"Sigh."
Ylon Schwartz picks up aces and kings in quick succession...

And loses with both.

First he bet every street against Zach Humphrey holding {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} against Humphrey's {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts}, the latter check-calling every street before check-raising the river of a {Q-Hearts} {9-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {3-Hearts} board. Schwartz made the call, but ended up mucking his hand face up.

Soon after he was on the end of another losing pot, holding {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} and losing out to David Baker's {5-Hearts} {5-Spades} by the river of a {5-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} board.

Greenstein Beats Griffin

On a {K-Spades} {10-Spades} {4-Diamonds} board, Gavin Griffin check-raised all in for 99,000 against Barry Greenstein's 25,000 bet. Greenstein thought for a few seconds before making the call with {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts} to find himself ahead of Griffin's {Q-Spades} {2-Spades} flush draw.

The board paired the {4-Hearts} and the river was the {6-Clubs}, and yet another player falls in quick succession.

Next!

The Hammer Strikes For Woodward!
The Hammer Strikes For Woodward!
Kirill Rabstov was next out, moving all in with {8-?} {8-?} but getting looked up by Zachary Humphrey's {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} which held on a {6-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {2-Spades} {7-Diamonds} board.

He was shortly followed by Joe Kuether, who pushed his remaining 8,500 into the middle with {9-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} and found Matt Woodward giving him a spin with the hammer {7-Diamonds} {2-Spades}. It hit the anvil on the {Q-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {4-Spades} board.

Remember the Time.....

...when we had 28 players at the start of this level?

Well, we're now down to 21...

First, a huge pot between Howie Kahan, Eric Froehlich and Samuel Ngai with everyone all in preflop.

Ngai had the other two covered and held {J-Hearts} {J-Spades} against Froelich's {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} and Kahan's {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. The board bricked out {6-Spades} {4-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}, and Kahan doubled up. Froelich was eliminated and Ngai down to just 2,000.

Ngai was eliminated soon after pushing with {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}, but ran into Hasan Habib's {A-Clubs} {7-Hearts} on a {Q-Spades} {K-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {3-Hearts} board.

McGuiness wins a Thriller!

John McGuiness
John McGuiness
With the flop reading {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}, John McGuiness bet 10,000 and Joe Kuether raised to 30,000. McGuiness then moved all in for almost 200,000 and Kuether made a quick call holding {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} for a flopped boat. McGuiness could only show a virtually drawing dead {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}. But, the turn {A-Clubs} gave him some hope before the {Q-Spades} on the river made queens full of aces to beat queens full of jacks.

McGuiness has 400,000
