"Queen-jack" said Liu's opponent sheepishly, turning over . Liu showed for fours, and dragged the pot.
"You caught me," said Liu's opponent as she stacked the chips. "The only time I've bluffed all day!" he added. Liu laughed. She has about 22,000 at the moment.
Juha Helppi
A player under the gun raised to 775, the button called, then Juha Helppi reraised to 3,500 from the small blind. The original raiser folded, but the caller repopped it to 8,300 total. Helppi wasted little time reraising all in with his entire stack of nearly 40,000, and his opponent called immediately for a total of 33,000.
Helppi was in good shape with against his opponent's . The board came , and another player hits the rail. Helppi, meanwhile, moves up past the 75,000-chip mark.
Ville Wahlbeck, currently 4th in chips out of the six players remaining in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event (Event No. 49), had bought into this event and so during a recent break made his way over to see what he could do with his dwindling stack.
With microphone still attached (from playing at the TV table), Wahlbeck quickly proceeded to lose all of his chips here, and so back he goes to the main feature table.
After a player limped from under the gun, Marc Naalden -- who has won one WSOP bracelet this summer as well as finished runner-up in another event -- raised to 1,100 from the cutoff. The button called, the blinds folded, and the UTG player called as well.
The flop came . The player under the gun led with a bet of 1,900, Naalden raised to 6,000, and the button reraised all in for just a little more than 6,000. The UTG player folded, and Naalden called the small reraise.
Naalden showed for the flush draw, but his opponent had gotten sneaky with and now had a set of aces. The turn was the , changing nothing. But the river was the , giving Naalden the flush and eliminating his opponent.
After a flop of , Eli Elezra bet 1,350 and the player behind him called. The turn was the . This time Elezra fired 4,400, and again his opponent called.
The river brought the . Elezra bet 6,000 this time, and this time his opponent folded. Elezra is up to 53,000 now.
Dario Minieri opened with a raise to 1,850 from the button, then Roy Matthews reraised to 2,900 from the small blind. The big blind folded, and Minieri quickly reraised to 10,050 total. Matthews took little time raising again, this time to 20,050.
Minieri then without hesitation shoved all in for what appeared about 20,000 more -- the chips scattered and were difficult to count -- and Matthews, who had Minieri covered, snap-called.
Matthews showed . Minieri, it turned out, was bluffing all the way with . The board came , and Minieri is out.
Victor Ramdin
A player raised to 1,000 from the button, and Victor Ramdin reraised to 2,250 from the blinds. The original raiser thought a half-minute, then repopped it to 6,000 total.
Ramdin eyed his opponent's stack. "How much?" he asked. His opponent spread out his chips for counting -- 13,150. Ramdin studied a while longer, then let it go.
The numbers are in. A total of 928 entered this final bracelet event prior to the Main Event, creating a whopping prize pool of $4,361,600. Besides securing the last gold bracelet to be awarded until November, the winner of Event No. 56 will win $1,003,163. Those finishing in the top 90 will all cash.
