Daniel Didech is seated over at the secondary feature table. After raising the action up to 1,025, Didech got three callers; one in a later position and both blinds.
The flop came down and everyone checked, including the preflop raiser Didech. The turn brought the and action checked to Didech. This time, he tossed out a bet of 3,300. Everyone folded and Didech scooped the pot.
Although this hand isn't full of fireworks, it's one of many that have helped Didech build his stack up to a current 95,000 chips.
Samer Rahman opened with a raise to 1,100 from the hijack seat, and the player sitting to his left called. The flop came , and Rahman wasted little time making a continuation bet, after which his opponent quickly folded.
Guillaume de la Gorce picked up a nice little pot when both he and another player made two pair, aces and jacks. De la Gorce had his opponent outkicked though, his nine kicker playing against his opponent's seven kicker, and he's back up above his starting stack on 31,500.
On a board of , two players checked to Benjamin Gilbert. Gilbert fired a bet of 1,500 and was called by only the second of those players. The river brought the and Gilbert checked after his opponent checked to him.
Gilbert showed two black jacks and his opponent mucked. Gilbert is now back up to 38,000.
After some preflop action had already built a sizable pot, three players -- including Carlos "El Matador" Mortensen -- all checked the flop.
The turn was the , and Mortensen responded with a bet of 5,000 from the small blind. The player in early position called, leaving himself just 150 chips behind. Then the player sitting in middle position reraised to 13,000. Mortensen called, and the EP player committed his last chips.
The river was the . Mortensen checked, and the MP player shoved all in with a bet that more than covered Mortensen's stack. Mortensen folded his pocket nines face up. The MP player showed -- he'd turned the straight, and rivered the flush. The third player turned over and was eliminated.
After the player under the gun limped in, Jeff "YoungSupremacy" Hakim raised to 1,250. Only the limper called and the two players took a flop of . Action was checked to Hakim and he fired a bet of 1,725. His opponent folded and Hakim scooped the pot to move to about 49,000 chips.
Moments later, Hakim check-raised a bet of 1,200 to 3,850 from an opponent on a flop of . The player made the call and the dealer then dealt the on the turn. Hakim checked after studying his opponent and asking how much he had left. The player bet 2,500 and Hakim made the call.
The river fell the and after a few seconds, Hakim fired out 8,850. His opponent tanked and then mucked his hand. After that pot, Hakim was able to boost his stack to nearly 65,000.
We think there had been at least a couple of raises before this point but Ali Eslami had made it 15,000 to go before his opponent had reraised all in for about 48,000 more.
Eslami went deep in the tank thinking for about five minutes before flashing his cards high enough for us to see him expose that then went sailing into the muck.
After running into the pocket aces of Billy "The Croc" Argyros, Greg Raymer was back into the action on the very next hand.
With a raise to 900 and a call in front of him, Raymer squeezed to 3,500 from the button. The original raisor folded but the player in the cutoff called for the second time in the hand.
The flop landed and both players checked. The turn was the but Raymer didn't know it, as he stared his opponent down intently and waited for him to act first before looking at the board. He bet 5,000 and Raymer quickly made the call.
The river was the and action checked to Raymer who fired another 5,000 with his opponent making the call.
Raymer tabled for the straight to take it down as his lost chips were quickly recovered. He's back to 48,000 chips.
