Kelopuro Scoops Another

Staying aggressive and building nicely
Staying aggressive and building nicely
On a flop of {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} {3-Clubs}, the first player checked and then Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro bet 700. The next player to act called and then the other three players that saw the flop all folded.

The turn brought the {K-Clubs} and Kelopuro bet 2,000 this time. His opponent called again.

The river was the {8-Spades} and Kelopuro fired 6,000. His opponent quickly folded, giving Kelopuro the pot. He's now up to 48,000.

Niel Before Hougaard

There was a mid position limper, but he soon got out of the way when Rasmus Nielsen raised from the cutoff and Jesper Hougaard reraised from the button. Mr. Limper got out of there swiftly before Nielsen went all in over the top, Hougaard called all in, and it was an easy double up for Hougaard as an improbably large crowd formed around the table to gawp.

Nielsen: {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs}
Hougaard: {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts}

Board: an entirely nine-less {K-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}

Hougaard doubles up to 15,000, while Nielsen languishes on 2,500.

Mackey Takes A Hit

James Mackey has suffered a slight reversal of fortune after raising all in on a {Q-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} board with {10-?} {10-Spades} but running into {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} which held on the {9-Spades} turn and {2-Hearts} river.

It looks like Mackey is down to just 5,000 as a result.

Lindgren Lingers, Then Lets it Go

Erick Lindgren decides to fold
Erick Lindgren decides to fold
Over at the main feature table, Erick Lindgren had chipped up close to 40,000, but has fallen back just a bit. Just now he raised to 500 from under the gun, and the table folded back around to the player in the big blind who called. The flop came {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}. The big blind checked, Lindgren continued for 700, and his opponent called. Both checked the {9-Clubs} turn.

The river brought the {8-Hearts}. This time Lindgren's opponent bet 1,500, and E-Dog let it go. He's at 32,000 at the moment.

Cracking Kings 101

A late position player raised to 550. Josh Arieh called on the button as did the player in the big blind.

The flop fell {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and the big blind open-shoved all in. The late position player folded and Arieh called.

Arieh: {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and river the {Q-Diamonds} and Arieh rakes down another big pot with trip sixes. After taking a recent hit, he's back to about 65,000.

Furst Still Thirsts for Chips

Rafe Furst limped in from under the gun, and the table folded back around to the blinds. The small blind completed, the big blind checked, and the flop came {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. All checked. The turn came the {6-Spades}, and again all checked.

The river was the {10-Spades}. The players in the blinds again checked, both turning to the left to see what Furst would do. He tossed out a bet of 400, the SB folded, and the BB called.

The big blind showed {6-Hearts}{4-Spades} for trips, and Furst mucked. Furst is down to 22,500.

Lewis Chipped Down

David Lewis in action

On a board reading {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}, Chip Me Up sponsored player David Lewis called an opponent's all in.

Lewis: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Drawing to any ace, nine, six or five to take the lead, Lewis would miss everything when the {J-Clubs} fell on the river to see him slip to 12,700 in chips.

Aggression After the Flop Equals Chips for Eastgate

Over on one of the feature tables, defending WSOP Main Event champion Peter Eastgate was just involved in a couple of hands.

In the first, a player from middle position raised to 525 and got four callers, including Eastgate from the cutoff. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. It checked to the raiser who continued by again betting 525, it folded to Eastgate who raised to 1,525, and all four folded.

In the next one, a middle position player raised to 750, Eastgate called, and the button called as well. The flop came {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. The MP player bet 1,100, Eastgate raised to 3,000, and the other two folded.

Eastgate is at 37,500.

Ramdin Wins a Showdown with Nine High

On a flop of {K-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {2-Clubs}, the small blind and the big blind checked to a player in middle position. Victor Ramdin was the player in the big blind. The player in middle position bet out 1,250 and the next player folded from the cutoff seat. The small blind folded as well before Ramdin made the call.

The turn brought the {2-Diamonds}, pairing the bottom card on board. Both remaining players checked.

The river was the {6-Hearts} and both players checked again.

"Nine high." announced Ramdin. His opponent mucked his hand and Ramdin showed {9-Clubs} {8-Clubs} for a busted flush draw, but still the winning hand. He's back up to 20,000.
