Durrrr Done

Tom Dwan Eliminated
Tom Dwan Eliminated
Tom Dwan has been eliminated from the Main Event. As we wandered past his table to find his empty chair, the table recalled to us what led to his elimination.

Dwan and one other player called a preflop raise to see a {3-?}{4-?}{5-?} flop with two spades. The preflop aggressor followed up with a continuation bet which Dwan called, before the third player raised to 8,000. One call and Dwan decided to move all in for 22,000 more. Both opponents called.

The turn was a {10-?} and both live players checked before a {7-?} fell on the river. Check, all in and fold was the action as the third player tabled pocket sixes for a rivered straight. Dwan flashed pocket kings and headed for the nearest exit.

Phan Flushes A Double

Phan doubles with rivered flush
Phan doubles with rivered flush
Tim Phan has managed a double soon after returning from the break when he made both a straight and a flush holding {4-Spades}{5-Spades}.

All the money went in on the turn with the board reading {2-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs} with Phan's pair, straight and flush-draw up against an opponent's higher pair {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

The river fell the {A-Spades} to see Phan double to over 60,000 in chips.

Last Dance for Tim Vance

Just before the dinner break, Tim Vance was elimianted after getting it all-in with {10-?} {10-?} against the {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} of Sean Dorn on a {7-?} {2-Clubs} {4-Clubs} board.

"Hooooollllddddd," bellowed Tim. But after a blank turn, another club appeared on the river and Vance threw his glasses on the floor and stomped on them.

Despite this flash of anger, Vance immediately then shook everyone's hand at the table before heading to the rail.

Plastik Disaster

No, no children have swallowed any small parts of toys etc. -- instead, David Plastik involved himself in a massive cooler of a hand, and is back down to 15,000.

A preflop raising war saw a gentleman all in with {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}, just a shade away but at the same time a million miles ahead of Plastik's {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}. "I knew it," said Plastik, "I almost folded them."

Board: {4-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {A-Clubs}

"YES!!!" cried Plastik as his flush came in. Then sudden disappointment as he realised that his opponent had a full house. Oh, the cruelty of the poker gods.

"I hate you, Jennifer," said the amiable Plastik to the giggling dealer, "I hate you!"

Hamilton's Turn to Double

Hasan Habbib opened with a raise to 1,600. A player in the small blind made it 3,000 to play. Troy Hamilton, in the big blind, then made it 10,000 to go, which forced Habib out of the hand. The small blind made the call.

The flop was {K-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn brought another spade with the {J-Spades} and the small blind player moved all in. Hamilton insta-called for his last 31,000 and tabled pocket jacks to leave his opponent drawing dead with {A-Spades}{3-Spades}.

The river bricked out and Hamilton doubles up to 88,000 chips.

Never the Dwayne Shall Meet

Dwayne Stacey bet out on a {5-Clubs} {4-Spades} {J-Clubs} flop, and then called when his opponent went all in.

He was very ahead...

Stacey: {5-Spades} {5-Hearts}
Mr. All In: {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}

Turn: {6-Spades}
River: [please insert your own chorus of 'Wow's here to experience the true tableside atmosphere] {K-Clubs}

Stacey drops, but is still on a very comfortable 120,000.
