Shou Money Tonight

From middle position, Tian Shou came in raising to 20,000, and the action folded around to the cutoff seat. Raul Mestre was there, and he made a second raise to 60,000. Shou would go into the tank for just a bit before announcing all in, and Mestre snap-called for his remaining 423,000, putting his own tournament life in jeopardy.

Showdown
Shou: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}
Mestre: {J-Spades} {J-Clubs}

The flop was pretty clean for Mestre as it came {Q-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {6-Spades}. The {4-Clubs} that hit the turn was safe as well, and the {J-Hearts} on the end was a fine card as well. With his jacks holding up, Mestre has notched a huge double up, sitting now with 864,000. That puts him just a few thousand ahead of Shou now.

Eastgate Lets One Go

Burt Boutin raised from the button to 16,000 and Jason Adler made the call in the small blind before Peter Eastgate put in the squeeze play from the big blind to make it 59,000 to go.

Boutin then showed he wasn't mucking around and moved all in for 218,000 in total. Adler folded and Eastgate went into the tank for several minutes before giving it up. He slips to 375,000.

Brossia Bounced

Kyle Brossia was just all in for his last 120,000 with {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} against Rifat Palevic's {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and Brossia hits the rail.

According to the big board, we currently have 468 players still battling for that $8,546,435 first prize.

Pipes Start Calling More Loudly for Nealon

We have to imagine that there was no way Fergal Nealon was getting away from his hand on a flop of {9-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}. Nealon, who got all in with Brian Powell after a series of raises, tabled {A-Spades} {K-Clubs} for three aces. Nealon had flopped a small full houses, {9-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}, and had to sweat two streets to see if Nealon could catch a bigger full house. He could not. The turn {3-Spades} and river {6-Spades} improved no one.

Powell's stack was counted down at 317,000. With the amount already in the pot, he doubled to about 680,000 while Nealon fell to 168,000.

Wasicka Makes His Move... and Busts

Paul Wasicka - eliminated
Paul Wasicka - eliminated
We mentioned a few minutes ago that Paul Wasicka was very short and needed to make a move. He made his moed with {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} and got called by an opponent who showed down {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}. Wasicka was drawing dead by the turn on a board that ran out {A-Spades} {4-Spades} {9-Hearts} {K-Spades} {5-Spades}.

"Good luck everybody," said Wasicka as he left to get paid.

Margets Doubles With Aces

In a reraised pot, the last of Leo Margets chips were in the middle on a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} against Norman Gautron.

Margets: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Gautron: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

Gautron would need runners, and one of them was the {10-Clubs} on the turn, but the {K-Spades} hit the river as Margets doubles to 440,000 to leave Gautron on 240,000.

Schwartz Gets Her Wish

Marla Schwartz has been very talkative at her table today. She moved in for 61,000 and started the talking once Nick Binger called.

"I wanted the double-up from you, Nick," Schwartz said as she opened {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} against Binger's {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}.

The flop came out {4-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {7-Spades}.

"Pair the board," Schwartz asked the dealer. Instead the dealer produced the {6-Spades} on the turn. The river {8-Diamonds} was also a blank, securing the double-up for Schwartz.

"Thank you, Nick," Schwartz said as the dealer pushed her the pot.

Chansomboth Survives an All In Scare

Soutchay Chansomboth moved his short stack in preflop and got called by Jared Bluestein.

Chansomboth: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Bluestein: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The flop of {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} provided no help for Chansomboth, but the {4-Hearts} on the turn brought the possibility of a chopped pot, which happened when the {5-Diamonds} gave both players a six-high straight on the river.

Shou Shines

Under the gun, Tian Shou made it 20,000 to play before the flop, and two players down the line came along with the call. When the bet came to J.C. Moussa though, he moved all in for 144,000. Shou instantly called while the other two players ran for cover. Moussa tabled pocket eights and he saw the bad news as Shou showed ace-ace. The board ran out blanks to send Moussa to the payout desk, while Shou is quite healthy indeed. He's sitting on a massive stack of 1,340,000.
