Adler Eliminated

Jason Adler got his stack all in preflop against Burt Boutin and we had a classic race.

Adler: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Boutin: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The flop of {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} put Boutin in front, but Adler remained optimistic. "I think the five of spades is coming," he said.

The turn was close but no cigar, bringing the {4-Hearts}. "Five of spades," Adler called, but he was again denied, as the river brought the flush with the {8-Hearts}. Adler left the table as Boutin increased his stack to about 250,000.

Ivey + Aces = Winner

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey made it 16,000 to play from early position and got called by Bingjian Wu. A flop of {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} brought a continuation bet of 23,000 by Ivey and another call by Wu.

When Ivey bet 55,000 at the {8-Hearts} on the turn, Wu tanked before calling. The river brought the {4-Diamonds} and an all in bet by Ivey, forcing Wu to put his tournament life on the line. Wu tanked again before making the call. Ivey showed {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} and Wu was eliminated. Ivey is now near 900,000.

Mazelis Out, Lacay Leaps Forward

Four players together helped build a pot of 90,000 before the flop came {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. It checked to Ludovic Lacay in middle position who bet 52,000, George Mazelis called behind him, Alexander Kostritsyn also called from the small blind, and the fourth player folded.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}. Kostritsyn checked, Lacay bet 150,000, then Mazelis called all in with his last 120,000. Kostritsyn folded.

Lacay showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for two pair and Mazelis {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for both straight and flush draws. The river was the {7-Spades}, and Mazelis is out. Lacay now has 1.7 million.
