Baldwin Blows It

Joseph Baldwin has been sheared of chips -- he went all in with {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} on a {7-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {6-Clubs} flop, but Darvin Moon had rather lucked out with {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} and made the call.

Turn: {7-Spades}
River: {J-Clubs}

All In and Mucked

J.C. Tran opened the pot with a raise from middle position, and the action passed to Estelle Denis. She moved all in, and the table folded back around to Tran. Somwhere in the folding frenzy though, Denis' cards were pulled into the muck, leaving her all in with no cards.

"Floor!"

This was a matter for Tournament Director Steve Frezer, and he was at the table in no time. He listened carefully to the dealer and to Denis before making his decision. The rule is that the player is 100% responsibly for protecting their own cards, and Denis failed to do that. A long but civil argument ensued with Denis gesturing wildly, shaking her head, and glancing back and forth at her foe, the dealer.

By rights, Frezer probably could have taken her whole stack, but he showed a little mercy and only took enough chips out of her stack to cover the initial call. The remaining 110,000 of her chips were returned to a very upset Denis.

Patchell Vs. Stokes

Joey Lawrence raised to 30,000 under the gun and Joel Patchell called behind. Over to Jamin Stokes, who made it 100,000 to go. Lawrence said, "Whoa," and passed, but Patchell called and they saw a flop.

Flop: {K-Spades} {J-Hearts} {9-Clubs}

Patchell open-shoved for 310,000, and Stokes called.

Patchell: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}
Stokes: {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs}

Turn: {5-Spades}
River: {10-Clubs}

Patchell doubles to 890,000; Stokes is down to 350,000.

Fisher Can't Catch Anything

Bryan Kerr opened the pot with a raise to 32,000 from early position. Reed Hensel was in the cutoff seat, and he re-raised to 110,000 in turn. Mark Fisher then moved all in for 535,000 from the big blind, enough to fold Kerr. Hensel instantly called with {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs} though, and Fisher quietly tabled {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts}.

The board ran down {4-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {10-Hearts}, holding Hensel's aces and sending Fisher to the exit.

Flipping for Four Million

Warren Zackey

The flop was {9-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} between Tom Lutz and Warren Zackey. After some ferocious betting and raising, the two players got all of the money in the middle. Lutz was the player at risk and all in for a whopping 1.85 million. To put that number into better perspective, it's over 150 big blinds.

Lutz held {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} for the nut flush draw and two overs to Zackey's {10-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}.

The turn brought the {8-Diamonds}, leaving Lutz still hoping.

The river brought the {5-Spades}, completely missing Lutz. Zackey's tens were able to hold and he moved up to a chip leading 3.95 million. Lutz was eliminated on the hand.

Cordes Bests Bach

Matt Affleck raised to 28,000 from the button. Chris Bach flatted in the small blind and Kasper Cordes flatted in the big blind. The flop came down {10-Hearts} {5-Spades} {2-Clubs}. The first two players checked to Affleck and he fired 60,000. Bach raised to 160,000 and Cordes called. Affleck folded, leaving the other two players heads up.

The turn brought the {9-Clubs} and both players checked. The river brought the {J-Clubs} and two uneventful checks came from both players.

Bach tabled {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}, but lost to Cordes holding {10-Spades} {6-Hearts}. Cordes is now up to 1.66 million.
