Also Eliminated...

It'll take something special for former EPT Barcelona champion Sander Lylloff and Andrew Tuttle to make this year's November Nine as they've both just been eliminated.

Boeken Climbing

Noah Boeken
Noah Boeken
In a raised pot, Noah Boeken and Joseph Michael saw a heads-up flop come down {10-Spades} {4-Clubs} {8-Hearts}. The action isn't clear, but it ended with Michael being all in with {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} and Boeken putting him in trouble with {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}. The turn {6-Hearts} and river {7-Hearts} could do nothing for Michael's hopes, and he's been sent outta here.

Boeken is quite healthy now, sitting around 1.3 million.

Kang With a Bang

Tallest German in the room
Tallest German in the room
Benjamin Kang shoved under the gun for around 80,000 and it folded all the way around to Dennis Phillips in the small blind, who called.

Kang: {K-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}
Phillips: {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}

Flop: {9-Hearts} {A-Spades} {4-Diamonds}

Turn: {2-Spades}

River: {J-Hearts}

"YESSSS!!!" bellowed Kang, and lifted a member of the German media right off the floor in celebration.

"He won, by the way," commented another player as the celebrations continued.

The Mischief of Kenny Tran

In between two hands, Kenny Tran stood up from his table and meandered around the room a tad. He stopped at Table 8 where Antonio Esfandiari was sitting with only his socks on, his sandals tucked safely under his chair. So he thought, anyways. While Esfandiari was distracted by a hand in progress, Tran made the Magician's sandals disappear.

He walked across to the corner of the room to find a floor person doing some work and told him that the sandals belonged to the player who had just gotten knocked out. The floor person reluctantly grabbed the sandals and shot off across the room. About a minute later, Tournament Director Jimmy Sommerfield's voice came booming over the PA system: "The player who just busted at Table 18. You left your sandals behind. Table 18 bustout, come get your sandals."

It looks like Esfandiari still isn't clued in to the fact that his footwear has gone AWOL. There is a break approaching though.

Ivey Slides More

On a board of {K-Spades} {10-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {3-Spades} {A-Diamonds}, Chuck Clark fired 300,000 into Phil Ivey. Ivey asked how much the pot was and saw that it looked to be under 200,000. Ivey then made the call.

Clark tabled {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} to scoop the pot Ivey dropped to 220,000. Clark moved up to 1.7 million.

Tran Can Fold Aces

John Monnette opened for 22,000 from UTG+1. Thai Tran, who was chatting to his tablemate, did not see the raise, and attempted to open the pot himself for 21,000. Once he realized his mistake, he called the additional 1,000. Scott Cook called on the button, Joe Hachem called from the small blind and Craig Zotter called from the big blind.

All five players saw a flop of {K-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. The action was checked to Tran, who bet 59,000. Cook raised to 179,000, Hachem, Zotter, and Monnette folded and the action was back on Tran.

Tran tanked for a bit before flashing the {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} as he folded. Cook took down the pot and Tran's stack fell to 1,000,000.

Lutz Party!

Tom Lutz raised to 21,000 from middle position and Roger Goa raised all in for 118,000. Then Robert Lederer reraised all in for 495,000 and Lutz called both pushes.

Lutz: {J-Spades} {J-Clubs}
Goa: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}
Lederer: {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs}

Board: {J-Hearts} {A-Spades} {3-Hearts} {3-Spades} {8-Clubs}

Jacks over threes for Lutz to knock out both other players. Lutz up to 1.9 million.
