Matt Damon is seated on Table 73. It's no surprise that the rail on that side of the room has "bowed", with people trying to push in to get a better look at the superstar actor. He recently doubled up by getting all in with ("the Ivey Hand, ok," said Brad Garret). Damon flopped an ace but his opponent turned trips. No problem for Mike McD -- he rivered the full house.
We're in the process of obtaining a full draw from the WSOP staff, but for now check the chip counts page to see who's here.
It either is, or is not, Montel Williams' birthday today (we really don't trust anything that Brad Garrett has to say while he's doing his shtick on the mic). But Garrett recently led the whole assemblage in a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday on Williams' behalf. While that was going on Williams doubled up with against pocket fives, a birthday gift during his birthday song. Williams is up to 8,700.
As of the start of Level 3, we have 81 confirmed entrants for this year's Ante Up for Africa tournament. It seems that Andy Bloch has brought his iPad to the tournament. He's also landed on the same table as his lady-love, Jen Creason. "Raise your hand if you think he has a gambling problem," said MC Brad Garrett.
Montel Williams was seated next to Bloch. While Garrett was there entertaining the crowd, Williams moved all in and Creason called. "You're not going to knock him out on your birthday, are you?" Garrett asked Creason. In fact Creason did. Her ace-jack was victorious over Williams and sent him on to his next charity tournament at the Hard Rock.
