Ask Billy

Just now Vanessa Rousso lost the last of her chips in a hand against Alessio Isaia when her {10-}{8-}{7-}-X-X was pipped by Isaia's {10-}{8-}{6-}{3-}{2-}.

Immediately after the hand, Rousso queried Billy Baxter regarding how she played it. If you're going to get advice in a lowball event, Baxter is certainly the place to go. Here is a list of his seven WSOP Bracelets:

1975 -- $1,000 Deuce-to-Seven Draw
1978 -- $10,000 Deuce-to-Seven Draw
1982 -- $10,000 Deuce-to-Seven Draw
1982 -- $2,500 Ace-to-Five Draw
1987 -- $5,000 Deuce-to-Seven Draw
1993 -- $5,000 Deuce-to-Seven Draw
2002 -- $1,500 Razz

Isaia now has 25,000 (with all three add-ons). Meanwhile, following that hand Rousso went ahead and used all three of hers, bringing her stack to 22,500.

We are almost at the end of Level 4, when all players will be forced to cash those remaining add-on chips, if they still have any. When we return from the dinner break, we'll get updated -- and more indicative -- chip counts on everyone.

Tom Takes It

Doyle Brunson raised to 700 from middle position, and got two callers -- Phil Tom (button) and Robert Mizrachi (big blind). Mizrachi and Brunson both took one card, while Tom drew two.

Mizrachi considered a moment, then bet 1,500. Brunson quickly folded, then Tom called. Mizrachi paused, and Tom tabled his hand -- {10-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Mizrachi mucked.

Mizrachi has 27,000 (no add-ons), Brunson 12,000 (two add-ons), and Tom has 15,000 (one add-on).

Ten is Good for Turner

Jon Turner
Jon Turner

Tom "durrrr" Dwan raised to 525 from under the gun, then Tom "DonkeyBomber" Schneider raised to 1,100 from the button. It folded to Jon "PearlJammer" Turner in the big blind who called, and Dwan got out.

Turner stood pat, while Schneider took one. Both checked. "Ten," said Turner, tabling {10-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}. Schneider mucked.

Turner -- who has used his add-on chips -- sits with about 11,000 with about 15 minutes to go in Level 4. Schneider has 12,500, but all three of his pink add-on chips still available to him.

The G Joins the Game

Incidentally, at that table with Chris Ferguson and Andy Bloch mentioned a little while ago -- the one we refrained from calling a "table of death" because that would be redundant in this event -- there had been an empty seat between Bloch and Brett Richey up until just a few moments ago.

That seat has now been filled -- by Tony G.

Lisandro Avoids Elimination

Billy Baxter raised to 600 from early position, then J.C. Tran reraised to 1,900 behind him. Jeff Lisandro then pushed all in for his last 6,650 from the cutoff. Lisandro was really all in here, as he's used all of his add-on chips. The button, blinds, and Baxter folded, but Tran made the call.

Both players stood pat, then both announced they had tens. They opened their hands to settle the matter. Tran showed {10-}{9-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, while Lisandro survived with {10-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}.

Lisandro has about 14,000 now, while Tran has 9,500 plus two add-on chips (each worth 7,500).

Ivey's Just Hanging Out at the Office

Have a beer, Mr. Ivey
Have a beer, Mr. Ivey

Normally, Phil Ivey has a very serious look on his face during poker tournaments. The Ivey stare is famed for being the most intimidating in the poker world. Today though, Ivey's just kicking back with a nice massage and enjoying some time at the office - or the poker table. He's even ordered a few beers, Heinekens to be exact. It's a rarity that you see Ivey drinking at the table and he's on his second beer as we speak. He's already made some side bets in order to add some extra gamble to the event so things could get even more interesting now.

That Was Freaky

Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson

Funny hand just now over on the table featuring Howard Lederer, Steve Zolotow, Andy Bloch, Brett Richey, David Baker, and Chris Ferguson. We would call it the "table of death" or give it some other special mention, but really every table rates as such at this event.

Ferguson -- who has been reading Freakonomics, the 2005 best-seller by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner -- put down the book and opened with a raise to 400 from the cutoff, and only Bloch called from the big blind. Bloch took two cards. Ferguson then rechecked his cards, smiled a little, and tapped the table.

Bloch bet 700, and Ferguson let out a laugh as he mucked his cards face up -- {A-}{4-}{4-}{4-}{4-}! The table joined Ferguson in laughing at the unlikelihood of the hand, not to mention its worthlessness here in 2-7.

Both Ferguson and Bloch remain at around their starting stacks of 7,500 with all three add-ons still available to them.

Adams Has to Reload

Daniel Alaei raised and then Brandon Adams reraised all in for 5,400. Alaei made the call. Both players kept things simple and stood pat. Alaei tabled the {9-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{4-} and Adams mucked. He reloaded to 7,500 and now has two add-on chips left. Alaei is up to 31,000 with one add-on chip left.

Ivey Doubles Opponent

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey called his opponent's all-in raise and then drew one. His opponent stood pat. Ivey then mucked his hand after his opponent showed the {9-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-} to double to 15,500. Ivey was left with 21,500. He has already used all of his add-on chips as well.
